Margery Scott
As a young girl in Scotland, Margery Scott loved reading all the words that were in books, and using these words even when she didn’t have a clue of what they meant. Her favorites included consecrate, which was her version of concentrate, and puncture, which meant temperature. Inside the pages of these books, she lost herself in the fantasy worlds that the authors created.
However she didn’t have any idea that somebody, a live and real person, was writing these stories that enthralled her, nor did it occur to her that she could write these stories too.
When her family left Scotland and settled down in Canada, she started writing these long and rambling letters to her grandparents. Thinking back, these were truly mini-novels, filled up with her stories and adventures of growing up in some new country. While in school, she hated English classes, so what was she destined to become? Yep, a writer.
She finds that writing in just a single genre to be like eating just one sort of candy. Much too boring. Margery, a late bloomer, did not begin writing until she found herself with some free time, an empty nest, and one old standard typewriter that her dad found her someplace that she would rather not think too much about. She’s still got her empty nest out on a lake far away from the city, however the typewriter was replaced by a computer, and free time is now but a memory.
Margery writes from one end of the genre board to the other as the muse and mood hits her. However she primarily sticks to romantic suspense or historical romance.
When Margery is not busy writing or traveling trying to find a perfect setting for her next novel, she can be found wielding a pool cue or a pair of knitting needles.
“Emma’s Wish” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2011. A man eaten alive by grief. Sam Jenkins still has not come to grips with his wife’s death, however he cannot build his ranch out in the Texas wilderness and take care of his three kids by himself. He’s got just a single heart breaking decision: send his kids away until he’s able to provide for them properly.
A woman that is desperate for a family. Emma Witherspoon’s life was changed by a tragic accident. Now, she has accepted the fact that she’s never going to have a husband and kids of her own, however that does not ease the ache that is in her heart.
A proposition. When Emma offers Sam a marriage of convenience, neither one of them is able to foresee the changes that it is going to make their lives, and their relationship, anything but ‘convenient’.
This is a beautifully written tale. Emma is a giving and caring woman who’s impulsive nature is always at odds with her past which has taught her not to trust anybody. The novel is a sweet romance with some wonderful characters in it. Jake and Emma, in particular, are endearing characters, and the characters are sure to steal your heart.
“Winterlude” is the third stand alone novel and was released in the year 2011. What is a guy to do when his career depends only on keeping the boss’s virginal daughter untouched during the ski weekend vacation, particularly when she is bound and determined to lose her innocence to him?
All Dylan McCabe must do is babysit his boss’s 25 year old daughter for a couple days at the ski lodge and he will get the corner office with the brass nameplate. His job: keep guys away from her. It has been quite a few years since has seen Nicole St. Clair, however if he remembers her right, too much attention from men shouldn’t be that big of a problem. And once he is certain she is safe, he’s going to be free so he can enjoy the scenery.
Nicole is on a mission of her own. At last she is free of her over-protective dad, she is looking for a guy. With any luck, she’s going to meet the right one during this trip, not that she’s going to know what to do when she does find him. Seduction is the forte of her friend, not hers.
However it is time to learn. She’s always been an eager student, and she is convinced that Dylan will be the perfect teacher.
Readers liked the novel, which has a ton of charm and a smokin’ hot hero, and liked seeing how Nicole learned to forgive Dylan’s deception, take charge of her relationship with her dad, and chose to pursue her own dreams.
“Landry’s Back in Town” is the first novel in the “Rocky Ridge Romance” series and was released in the year 2016. A wrongly-convicted guy. Landry Mitchell made a mistake coming back to his home town after getting released from prison. The residents in Rocky Ridge, Colorado are not the forgive-and-forget sort. Now all that he wants is just to be left alone.
A woman that needs to be needed. Olivia Harding learned the hard way that her worth is measured just by what she does for other people. Now, she spends each of her days caring for the orphaned kids and those who are less fortunate than herself. She is determined to help Landry rebuild his life, whether the man likes it or not. He doesn’t for whatever reason. And he sure doesn’t like the way that he is beginning to care about Olivia. He cannot offer her a future when he doesn’t even have one himself.
While their feelings for one another continue to grow, Landry begins to think that they may have a future together. Then trouble returns to town too.
Readers enjoyed getting to know Landry and Olivia, and they make you want good things for both of them, as well as everybody else in the town. This is a well written, and fast paced read that does a great job of holding your attention throughout.
