Wolfe Locke is the pseudonym of Andrew O’Kelley who is best known as a husband, father, and veteran.
Aside from that, he is a bestselling author of LitRPG, GameLit, and Romantic Light novels and he usually weaves a little of each genre into every novel he writes.
Back in the day, he used to write a lot of champion guides for one of the most popular e-sports teams on “League of Legends.” As a veteran gamer, he still plays a lot of “Warcraft III” and his favorite mode is “Werewolf Transylvania.”
Aside from his artistic pursuits, he has a Master’s Degree in Social work, is a retired forensic interviewer, and hopes that one day he will have the time to finish a trauma counseling doctorate degree.
In the meantime, he has been very busy working on his novels.
He published “The Clan Hauntry,” his debut work of fiction in 2020 and has since become a very prolific author. Locke now has more than fifty titles to his name with a lot more still in the pipeline.
While Wolfe Locke has now become a very well-known author in the GameLit and LitRPG scene, things did not come so easily.
He originally got his start in 2019 when he used to write stories on Web Novel. It was at this time that he penned “Genesis Game” his first story, which would become a featured original.
While Web Novel changed his life it has since changed a lot ever since as they no longer have featured originals making it harder to break out than it initially was.
He has come a long way since then and now has some very popular works. His longest-running series is “Sowing Season,” which he writes alongside his friend Mike Caliban.
He began writing the work in 2022 and given how popular it has become, he intends to continue working on it, even though he also has seven other projects.
Similar to many of his contemporaries, Wolfe Locke decided to become a full-time author out of a deep anger towards the eternal hiatus and necessity. Now that he has become a full-time author, there is nothing better he would rather be doing.
The necessitous part of his motivation is that he is the father to a special needs child who needs a lot of care.
In fact, most of the time he is found interacting with fans on Discord and Reddit, he does it from a doctor’s lobby or from his car while on various therapy sessions.
By working as a full-time author, Locke has a lot of time to take care of his kid which he would never hope to have if he worked a normal 9-5 job.
He now spends much of his time writing his novels. When he is not writing, he can usually be found playing Super Mario Maker with his kid.
Wolfe Locke’s “Casual Farming” is a LitRPG about farming and quiet living.
The lead is a man named Jason Hunter who was given a gift that turned out to be the chance of a lifetime. He just inherited an old farmhouse and farm in Summer Shandy, a very small town out in the country.
It is an overrun, overgrown farm in need of tilling but also full of field monsters. It is all he needs to embark on life’s journey and he is lucky that his uncle left it to him.
However, he soon comes to discover that farm life is not so easy. There are too many chores ranging from watering crops and exterminating monsters.
To survive and thrive, he will need to learn to build his endurance, manage his stamina, and maintain a social life. Jason came from the city but he is determined to do everything in his power to make the farm a success.
Wolfe throws in a range of well-thought-out side characters who are instrumental in making this story hit all the notes just like they would in a game.
Overall, this is a calm and fun story that is best described as a palate cleanser in between grimdark and high-action stories in the genre.
“Casual Farming 2” by Wolf Locke is another interesting addition to the “Casual Farming” series of novels.
Jason managed to survive his first year living and working as a farmer in Summer Shandy. The farmstead does not look so rundown anymore, as he has been working hard to raise the standards.
Nonetheless, the work to be done is still a lot as he still needs to handle the monsters, tend the fields, and till the soil.
Jason Hunter the city boy has come to love working on the farm and thinks he could not have a better life if only the out-of-towners did not spoil everything. They had moved into his tranquil town and had proceeded to build several new buildings.
Jason is sure that these people are up to something sinister but there is no way to prove it.
Overall, this is a low-stakes work that will just put a smile on your face and give you the fuzzies.
Wolfe Locke’s novel “Casual Farming 3” is a fun work all about a magical game world in which farming is the main activity.
Jason Hunter the lead is in his third year living in Summer Shandy, a small town in the countryside. While some things in the town are very different, Hunter’s life has not changed much and he usually starts his day with a similar morning routine.
It has been a long time since he has gotten used to dealing with field monsters and running his farm. However, he now has to deal with a very new challenge, as he needs to take care of his fledgling relationship just as well as he takes care of his crops.
It is a fun story that is all about falling in love, going on adventures, and life on the farm that will just blow your mind.
The author also sprinkles in magic, and some sweet love stories to make a perfect story that will keep you engrossed from the first page to the last.
