Will Mara is an American author of thriller, inspirational and nonfiction books. He has published more than eighty novels in different topics and genres for people of distinct ages. The author has written many biographies for the young reader and some novels for the adults.

His novel, The One Wave, about the reaction of the community to an oncoming tsunami became a commercial success and won New Jersey Notable Book Award in 2005 making Mara a famous writer of international fiction. The Gemini Virus was number one on the Amazon list of the Best New Medical Thrillers in 2012.

Frame 232

Frame 232 is the debut novel in Jason Hammond series. In 1963, the world came to a standstill as John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Many questions have come up concerning the event. Wil Mara creates an exciting fiction of what could have happened on the day of the assassination.

The story discovers the mysterious and the yet to be solved the identity of the lady history knows her as the Babushka lady. The lady managed to capture the assassination on a film, but she kept it to herself in a hidden place and later revealed this secret to her daughter while on her deathbed. After the death of her mother, Sheila realizes that she has inherited not only her parent’s property but also a secret and a national treasure.

The protagonist Sheila Baker finds herself in an emotional dilemma making her terrified and confused. Though she had heard about the story of the babushka lady, she never thought that it could be her mother. Earlier during the assassination, her mother was at the Dallas and filmed something on her camera. After the news about the assassination spread, she hides the film, and after its development, she put it in a safe box and never retook it. Now that she has passed on, Sheila remains the custodian of the film.

Knowing that there is no one she can trust, she decides to turn to, a billionaire Jason Hammond who has been solving historical mysteries for the past years and is trying to forget a tragedy that swept away his family and he has not stopped mourning. Jason responds quickly to help Sheila since her life may be in danger.

Now Sheila is left to make a decision which her mother was not able to make about what to do with the film. She is either to destroy or to expose the secrets it holds. Although she might decide not to terminate that piece of history, she understands there are high chances that someone might be haunting her to keep the secret and prevent it from leaking to the public. Jason and Sheila begin a journey of altering history to figure out the truth by risking the danger of exposing information to the public about what happened.

Jason has the resources that they will need to come out alive. With the assassins on their run, Sheila and Jason find out the truth and report it to the right people before anyone notices them since there is someone who wants the fact to stay underground and is determined to do anything to bring down anyone or anything that will come on his way.

Mara has crafted a thriller with a good pace that will keep you awake. Frame 232 is an exciting thriller novel exploring what happened to John Kennedy. The plot of the story is compelling mixed with mystery, redemption, conspiracy, and danger. The author brings together different but connected storylines while preparing you for the revelation of the truth as the characters find out about the past. The topics and themes of the book are well drawn and clear to understand with realistic and relatable characters. The subjects include honesty search of forgiveness, and trusting in God when going through hard times in life. The story is in the third person, but the main point of view varies from one chapter to another.

The Nevada Testament

The Nevada Testament is the second book in Jason Hammond series. In the dark top floor of the desert inn, Howard Hughes, a billionaire hands his will to a twenty-year-old Chase Wheeler. Chase is a kitchen staff in the inn and through his simple way of living he had earned trust from Hughes. He is instructed to keep the will in a hidden place because it has information that might anger some people. Some of these people were a group working in the dark to ruin America.

A week later Hughes guards quickly move him from Las Vegas in the night hours, and Chase disappears. In the next years, Chase’s mother will eventually lose the interest of looking for him as she sees no chance s to find him.

Now in the present day, Randy Miller finds some pages of rough notes which appear to belong to Hughes hidden on a wall of the demolition of the old desert inn. Randy is on a financial difficulty as a result of the recession, together with his wife, Jeanine decides to put some of the pages on the eBay. After some days, some gunmen ambush the Miller family demanding for all the family members. The Millers are shocked by the news and take their children to a safe hiding place and contacts the only person he can trust, Jason Hammond. He is a sleuth who recently solved the mystery of the death of John Kennedy and appeared on the news headlines.

Jason meets Mr. Miller and reads the notes after which he notices that they have some information about Hughes’ lost will. If he finds the will soon it will give some people a great fortune while disadvantaging others and it will enable him to bring the killer to the light though it will not be straightforward. Jason is very determined to find the will to save Miller’s family and Chase’s surviving relative, his sister Denise. The investigation leads him to some shocking truth behind America’s fall.

The Nevada Testament is stunning and well -paced with well-drawn characters keeping you entertained to the last page.
