Little Duck Pond Cafe Series by Rosie Green
Author Rosie Green writes the “Little Duck Pond Cafe” series of novels. The series began publication in the year 2018, when “Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe” was released.
The series is is set in a tiny village called Sunnybrook. The books feature different women coming to the town to start over. It involves The Little Duck Pond Cafe in different ways.
“Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe” is the first novel in the “Little Duck Pond Cafe” series and was released in the year 2018. Ellie Farmer, who is fleeing from a romance gone sour, shows up in the pretty and small village of Sunnybrook. She just hopes to have a brand new start that certainly doesn’t include love. After an unscheduled soak out in the village duck pond, she meets Sylvia, who operates the nearby Duck Pond Cafe.
Renting the small flat located above the cafe appears to be the answer to Ellie’s own prayers. It is just for six months, which is going to give her time to sort her life out, far from Richard, her cheating boyfriend. Could running from her past really be the answer?
Clashing with Zack Chamberlain, the brooding and mysterious and author with a horrible case of writer’s block, is not at all what she needs at the moment. Then there is Sylvia, who still clings to her past very hard to the point that she may lose the quaint yet run-down Duck Pond altogether. Could Ellie locate the answers she is desperately looking for in Sunnybrook? Is she going to be able to help save Sylvia’s tiny Duck Pond Cafe from closing?
This is a heartwarming story and is sure to make your heart sing. It is the perfect book to get cozy with on the sofa and lose yourself in. Rosie keeps you hooked with this story line and some characters you come to care for.
“Summer at the Little Duck Pond Cafe” is the second novel in the “Little Duck Pond Cafe” series and was released in the year 2018. Jaz Winters just stuck a pin in a map and headed to Sunnybrook, looking to find a new life, and after a rough start, it is starting to appear as though she made the right call. Her blossoming friendship with Fen and Ellie has gotten her through some tough times, and she has managed to land a couple jobs: working as a weekend tour guide at Brambleberry Manor (the country house that has been in Fen’s family for generations) and waitressing at The Little Duck Pond Cafe.
Life is not entirely perfect, sure. There is the irritating know-it-all guy that pops up on her manor tours, for one. He appears to be determined to get under her skin whether or not she likes it. She figures he is but a tiny price to pay for the peace she’s been able to find while living in Sunnybrook. Right when Jaz starts thinking rosier times are on the horizon, a stunning encounter seeks to ruin her fragile happiness.
Is she going to be forced to leave Sunnybrook and everybody she has grown very fond of? Or is she going to find the strength to stand her ground face the nightmares of her past?
“Christmas at the Little Duck Pond Cafe” is the third novel in the “Little Duck Pond Cafe” series and was released in the year 2018. Fen’s always hated being the center of attention. She loves her new job, working at the Little Duck Pond Cafe behind the scenes and baking the scrumptious cakes that helped its reputation soar. Frankly, she would rather scrub the public toilet floor with her own toothbrush than have to talk to any of the customers.
She’s always been happy to just stay in the background just so long as she’s got a good supply of books to escape into. That is her sort of romance, the fictional kind where she can read about others taking a chance on love, and doesn’t have to put her own heart at risk.
That was before Ethan Fox showed up in Sunnybrook and upended her world entirely. Ethan’s a leading light in the local amateur dramatics theater company and Fen realizes he is way out of her league. When the popular village Christmas pantomime hits a crisis, Ethan and Fen land themselves tossed together. Could Fen overcome her own shyness to find enough courage to step on the stage and save the day?
“Snowed in at The Little Duck Pond Cafe” is the fourth novel in the “Little Duck Pond Cafe” series and was released in the year 2018. The biggest snowfall in some time has just blanketed all of Sunnybrook, leaving the village cut off from the outside world. For Fen, who finds she is snowed in at The Little Duck Pond Cafe, it is just a bit more than only a minor inconvenience.
Her love life finally runs smooth, as she seems to have finally found the perfect guy for her. Then one stunning secret threatens to ruin her new-found happiness. Is being snowed in going to be the final straw? Or is Fen going to figure a way through the snowdrifts to the perfect love?
The setting to these books is beautiful and all of the characters are delightful. This place seems like it’s a wonderful place to live. The book is just a lot of fun, and makes for an entertaining read.
“A Bakery at The Little Duck Pond Cafe” is the fifth novel in the “Little Duck Pond Cafe” series and was released in the year 2019. Ellie’s dreams of opening her own bakery in Sunnybrook are coming true. Jaz and Fen are happily rallying around, helping her out to plan a fabulous grand opening.
Everything their garden appears to be rosy. Until a newcomer’s arrival brings chaos to this village and pushes relationships to their limits. Could the bakery succeed in the face of this sort of upheaval? More importantly, could firm friendships survive?
These engaging story lines are relatable and comes with an interesting cast of characters who deal with real-life issues.
