Author Bella Falls writes the “Southern Charms Cozy Mystery” series. The series began publication in the year 2018, when “Moonshine & Magic” was released.

The series is set in Honeysuckle Hollow, North Carolina and stars Charli Goodwin. Magic and mystery are but a fraction of the Southern Charms of this supernatural small town.

Charlotte “Charli” Vivian Goodwin was adopted into the Goodwin family by Delford Jr. and Rayline Goodwin when she was left on their doorstep. She has special magical abilities for tracking things down, and has spent her life attempting to master her powers. Since she is different from everybody else, she thinks about her biological family sometimes, and where she comes from.

Vivian “Vivi” Delaney Goodwin is the head “witch” of Honeysuckle Hollow. She’s the Goodwin family representative on the town council and she sits in the high seat, which is the top leadership position. She is regularly recognized as the strongest and smartest witch in town, and most realize that she is most likely the greatest witch in most of the South. Vivi is the proud grandma of Charli and Matt.

Matthew Delford Goodwin works in magical law enforcement as one of Honeysuckle Hollow’s deputy wardens. Charli, whom he loves teasing, calls him “Matty D”. Even though she is adopted, he treasures her and treats her the exact same as everybody else in the family, as though she is just as much a Goodwin as anybody else. Matthew was lucky to get married to “TJ” Traci Jo, the town’s animal healer.

Vivi’s husband, Delford Goodwin Sr., fell in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her. But he had to work very hard to get that strong witch to actually realize they were a good match for one another. He was so proud of her heritage, he changed his last name to hers to ensure the Goodwin name would be carried on through their family line.

“Moonshine & Magic” is the first novel in the “Southern Charms Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2018. Charli Goodwin doesn’t expect her homecoming to go off without a hitch. After all, she did skip town, and leave her family and fiance without any clue as to where she was going or even why she was leaving. Now that she is ready to go back home, she plans to just lay low and sip some of Nana’s sweet tea as the town gossips all come out to play.

On her first night back, she finds the body of her crazy great-uncle. She quickly finds herself in the middle of a mystery which threatens the very foundations of Honeysuckle Hollow and the safety of all the paranormal citizens in it, starting with Charli.

As the clock ticks down, are her special magical talents going to be enough to save not just the town but also her own life?

This book has an outstanding cast of characters and the feeling of love and family is dominate throughout, with an entertaining and quirky storyline. There are characters to like, villains to hate, and a good puzzle to solve.

“Fried Chicken & Fangs” is the second novel in the “Southern Charms Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2018. There is an upcoming election that shakes up Honeysuckle. When the outspoken resident that opposes the changes to the magical small Southern town ends up dead, it is all up to Charli and her special abilities to investigate. Problem is her valuable magic doesn’t appear to be working at the moment.

What begins as just a simple hunt reveals a darker layer of sabotage and manipulation. Is she going to be able to figure out who’s pulling the strings all before the foundations of the town get destroyed?

Bella delivers a well thought out story and a mystery that is suspenseful with twists and turns that work to keep you guessing throughout.

“Sweet Tea & Spells” is the third novel in the “Southern Charms Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2018. The many changes in her life and in the town, which includes her ex-fiance’s upcoming nuptials to her cousin, sees Charli just trying to be on her best behavior. However when the outsider infiltrates Honeysuckle and there is another death threatening to ruin more than just the future of the upcoming wedding, she ends up in the middle of another murder case.

As Dash Channing, a wolf-shifter, cutting all contact off while he’s away and Mason Clairmont making a brand new declaration, everything could change for Charli. Is she going to be able to cast her personal feelings aside in order to break all the rules and help catch the real killer with the detective, or is more trouble be heading to this supernatural, small Southern town?

Once again, Bella delivers a well paced and engaging novel in this series, and the character development and new characters add suspense and charm to each mystery.

“Barbecue & Brooms” is the fourth novel in the “Southern Charms Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2019. As Charleston’s council is ready to take Honeysuckle Hollow over, the town and all its people have to band together and prove they don’t need to be absorbed into the big city magical district. What better way to show off this small supernatural Southern town than by hosting a barbecue contest and some classic broom racing?

To protect their town, it is important that nothing go wrong. However when one of Honeysuckle’s most important residents gets attacked, and leaves him close to death. It is up to Charli to convince the two guys pursuing her to work together so they can save a life and catch the perp.

Who is fanning the flames and turning up the heat? Is the love triangle prove to be too hot and spicy, or will Dash, Charli, and Mason be able to put aside their personal feelings to capture this villain before the town and its citizens get charred?
