Nicola Cornick
Nicola Cornick was born within a stone’s toss of the moors which inspired the Bronte sisters to pen “Wuthering Heights” and “Jane Eyre” in Yorkshire, England. One of her grandpas was a poet. With a background like this, it was a given that she would become a writer.
Nicola attended London University, studying history. She has done all kinds of jobs, from serving refreshments on a steam railway to sticking price tags on shoes in a factory.
For seven years, she lived in a cottage that was haunted by the ghost of a cavalier. She wrote her first historical romance while she lived here, which was published by Harlequin Mills and Boon.
She loves writing, reading, music, history, travel, wildlife, and walking her dog. Nicola is a guide and researcher at the stunning seventeenth century hunting lodge, called Ashdown House and is one of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of Lydiard Park in Swindon. She gives tours and talks on all kinds of historical topics.
Nicola’s work has been nominated for many awards including the RWA RITA, the RNA Romance Prize, and a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award.
She writes paranormal romance, historical romance, and romance. She is the author of the “De Iady’s van Fortune’s Folly” series, the “Scottish Brides” series, the “Scandalous Women of the Ton” series, the “Blue Stocking Brides” series, and the “Tallants” series, as well as some stand alone novels.
“Whisper of Scandal” is the first novel in the “Scandalous Women of the Ton” series and was released in the year 2010. This novel stars Joanna Ware and Alex. Scandal is not just for rogues, like the women in this series prove.
Lady Joanna Ware has got zero desire to get married again, however that still doesn’t stop a ton of suitors from knocking at her door. Joanna, who is desperate to thwart another proposal, brazenly smooches the Arctic explorer, named Alex or Lord Grant. Joanna is unable to deny the fiery attraction that flares, and knows that she has set the gossip mill to turning.
She is accustomed to scandal after suffering countless infidelities while she was married. Nothing has prepared her for the stunning news that her dead husband bequeathed his illegitimate kid to her as well as his friend Alex. While rumors run rampant in the ton, Alex and Joanna go to the Arctic in order to claim the orphan. Battling the dangerous wildlife and blizzards, as well as a treacherous plot, Alex has to keep Joanna safe, however, it won’t be before he seduces her.
“One Wicked Sin” is the second novel in the “Scandalous Women of the Ton” series and was released in the year 2010. This novel stars Lottie Palliser and Ethan Ryder. Lottie Palliser formerly was the toast of the Ton, however now she is notorious for being both penniless and divorced. Disowned by her own family and shunned by society, this destitute beauty has to become a courtesan in a Covent Garden bawdy house. Lottie, who refuses to oblige her customers, is close to being turned out onto the streets after a dangerous rake saves her with quite the scandalous offer.
Ethan Ryder is an Irish Duke’s illegitimate son and a circus performer. He rose up through the ranks as one of the most dashing cavalry officers for Napoleon, until his capture landed him in England as prisoner of war. Ethan, who is now on parole, plans his most audacious coup so far. However he needs to make a magnificent diversion. Having Lottie play his mistress is going to lull everybody into believing he is busily bedding her rather than plotting lethal treason.
Ethan and Lottie believe their cool heads and their selfish hearts are going to give them the upper hand in their ruthlessly passionate union. However, their unexpected bond is going to scandalize even them.
“Mistress by Midnight” is the third novel in the “Scandalous Women of the Ton” series and was released in the year 2010. This novel stars Merryn Fenner and Garrick Farne. The bed of a wicked duke is no place for a lady.
Lady Merryn Fenner is currently on a mission to ruin the Duke of Farne. Merryn, who is a gorgeous bluestocking with a penchant for justice, has been waiting for twelve years now to satisfy her revenge against Garrick Farne. Her family name was tarnished by him, and her life was ruined.
For the past twelve years, Garrick, the Duke of Farne, has been keeping the secret of what actually happened the night he killed his best friend, Stephen Fenner during a duel. Stephen’s sister is intent on finding out the truth and putting all those secrets Garrick has kept safe at risk.
A disaster traps both Garrick and Merryn together, some white-hot desire stirs between these two sworn enemies. Merryn’s reputation gets utterly compromised and is forced to do the single thing she is unable to bear. Accept the scandalous marriage proposal of the guy she swore she would ruin.
“Notorious” is the fourth novel in the “Scandalous Women of the Ton” series and was released in the year 2011. This novel stars Susanna Burney and James Devlin. When the most notorious heartbreaker in town meets the most disreputable rake in all of London… Let the seduction start.
Susanna Burney, who is sinfully beautiful and dangerously seductive, is the most sought after matchmaker in society. She is paid by wealthy parents to part couples thought to be unsuitable, and has never yet been unable to succeed in diverting a groom-to-be. Until her last assignment brings her up close with the one guy that taught her a rather intimate lesson in heartache.
James Devlin has got everything that he has always wanted. A place in society, a title, and a rich fiancee. The woman that just met his stare from across the crowded ballroom puts it all in jeopardy. Not because she once claimed his heart a long time ago, or that each sinuous swirl of her gown takes his breath away. But because the secrets she is keeping might cost him everything.
Dev, in order to put the past to rest for good, might have to play Susanna at her very own wicked game.
