Order of Marion Zimmer Bradley Books
Marion Zimmer Bradley was an American author of fantasy, science fiction and speculative fiction, as well as some gay & lesbian pulp fiction novels (which were controversial at the time) under various pseudonyms. Feminist views were a common theme in Bradley’s fiction. Bradley is best known for her Darkover series and to a lesser degree, her Avalon series. She also edited the long-running Sword and Sorceress anthology, which gave Mercedes Lackey her start as a published author. Bradley passed away in 1999 at the age of 69 after years of failing health.
Marion Zimmer Bradley started out placing well in a short fiction contest for the magazine Amazing Stories. Her story, Outpost, was published in Vol. 23, No. 12 of the magazine (December 1949). Her first novel was Falcons of Narabedla, published in 1957. I Am a Lesbian was written under the pseudonym of Lee Chapman. My Sister, My Love, Twilight Lovers and The Strange Women were written under the pen name Miriam Gardner. Spare Her Heaven, Anything Goes and Knives of Desire were written as Morgan Ives. No Adam for Eve was written using the pen name John Dexter. The Endless Voyage was also published as The Endless Universe.
