One of the successful novel series written by author Lorhainne is The Wilde Brothers series, which consists of a total of 5 books published between the years 2013 and 2015.The first novel of the series was published under the title ‘The One’. It was released by the author herself as an e-book edition in the year 2013. The plot of the novel deals with the lives of the main characters, Margaret Gordon and Ryan and Joe Wilde. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Margaret Gordon is introduced as a former prominent surgeon from Seattle. Once during a surgery, a knife slipped from her hand and nearly gave the patient a permanent fracture. After that incident, she was fired and made to return to her hometown. Margaret finds it to be the perfect place to hide from her failure and let her wounds heal. She does not intend to have anyone around her except her horse. Actually, Margaret is not fond of horses and has never considered herself as a good horse person. But, she is aware of the fact that horses are better than most of the people. Soon, the recently widowed Je Wilde arrives at her ranch one morning along with his teenage son named Ryan Wilde and a horse, which seemed to have a health problem. Margaret turns into the teenage misfit who carried the torch for Joe silently throughout the school. However, Joe Wilde uses his smooth talking skills and convinces her to work with his temperamental horse.
Slowly, she grows closer to Joe’s son Ryan and learns that the issue with the horse is more to do with the father and son pair. Margaret also learns that Ryan is anxious with the fact that his father is seeing a woman, who only seems to be interested in his sexy and smart father Joe Wilde and not in him, as he is considered to be his misfit son. Now, the only problem left between the three of them is that Ryan Wilde wants Margaret Gordon to become his mother. So, tends to take the matters in his own hands and tries to put Margaret in the path of his father with every chance that he gets. He also tries to separate his father from the selfish woman who he is currently dating. Soon, the sparks begin to fly and sizzle between Margaret Gordon and Joe Wilde, but he believes that she has despised him all over his life and knows that all his misfit son needs is just a mother. But, he goes on to propose marriage to the woman he was dating and this leaves his son furious. Eventually, Ryan packs his bag and takes off on his feisty horse and goes to the Backcountry. Much to the surprise of Joe Wilde, Margaret sets up on her horse and rides more than a 100 miles into the wilderness in her race against time in order to find Ryan Wilde. When Joe and Margaret find that the life of Ryan is in jeopardy, they decide to put their differences aside and accept each other as ‘The One’ for them. This brings a lot of joy in the life of Ryan and a bright smile on his face.
The second novel of The Wilde Brothers series written by author Lorhainne Eckhart was published under the title ‘Friendly Fire’. It was also self -published by the author in the form of an e-book edition. The plot of this deals with the life of the main characters Logan Wilde and Julia Cooper. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Logan Wilde is introduced as a former marine, whose career was ended due to a roadside bomb. Now, he struggles to get his life back on track. Shortly after, he takes up the job as a sheriff of the Idaho town. Initially, he expects his job to be peaceful and quiet, hoping that it will bore him.But, Logan seems to be hiding a painful secret. He cannot sleep at night and suffers from flashbacks from his former profession and does not know what triggers it. When Logan moves into the cafe owned by Julia Cooper, she finds it hard to suppress her attraction towards him. She falls for his sexy ad athletic look when he shoots a carafe from her hands. When Julia sees him from very close, she remembers that her father also had the same wild look in his eyes at the time when he shot himself. Despite getting attracted towards Logan, Julia tries to find a normal man who has never touched a gun. She is told by her relatives that the teacher of her daughter is perfect for her. But, by being with him, Julia misses the spark then sizzles between Logan and her. Shortly after, her daughter disappears and Logan comes to her help. After searching for Julia’s daughter everywhere, Logan begins to suspect that the teacher has something to do with the disappearance and that he is not the dependable and safe person that Julia thinks him to be.
