London Casey is a pen name used by Karolyn James. She’s the author of Romance novels, and her works include the St. Skin series and Back Down Devil MC series. Casey has also written standalone books, including Anna’s Dress and Dear Everly.

In Her Words
In her Words in the debut novel in the St. Skin series. Cass had grown his entire life without a father, and his mother did three jobs in a day to provide food and have shelter. After becoming old enough, he relocated to California to join a rock band.

He went from one band to another because of his talent in playing guitar and made good money. Additionally, he had a good sex appeal which attracted more women. His star rock life had started making him better, but he walked away from the music to start something he thought he could be more creative.
Cass traded his guitar with a needle, and he began working at St. Skin as a tattoo artist, where he later became the best in the field. His fame in women was still there but in a different area.

Cass always recalls Scarlett as his one-night stand, who left and was nowhere to be found after. He had fallen in love with her, and her getting away feels like it has been a lifetime. He can’t stop thinking about her at all, even when he’s sure that he will never meet her again. The one thing that he never knew is that on that fateful night, she became pregnant, but she never bothered to tell him.

He comes to learn this when Scarlett’s best friend comes to him with a baby on her arms one day. The baby is Cass’s daughter, and this changes his life forever. His life has taken a different path, and now he has to figure out what all this means.

Now a father, he finds himself attracted to Scarlett’s best friend. He feels confused that a place he had preserved for the lady he has always been dreaming about will be occupied by someone else. It feels wrong and crazy sometimes, but he doesn’t care at all.

Scarlett and Diem had been best friends since childhood. The two had grown together in foster care, with Scarlett being wild and Diem responsible. Diem was always there through her friend’s pregnancy and was ready to do anything for her.

One day Scarlet left the baby with Diem and never returned home. She later learns that she got involved in an accident that took her life. Diem is left to take care of her daughter, and she has tried so hard to raise Paisley-the baby as her own but knowing who the father is, she thinks he needs to know the truth of what happened.

Taking the baby to the father, she has no other intentions, but after finding out, he’s the sexiest man she has ever seen, with a good attitude, everything changes. She will not force him to be Paisley’s father since all she needs is help to raise her well. Having grown up without a father, she doesn’t want Paisley to face the same. Earlier, she thought meeting Cass would be easy, but everything becomes complicated when she starts falling for him.
Can Cass stop his womanizing lifestyle and want to be a father to a child he never knew existed? Does it mean that Diem will lose the baby she has been taking care of for so long?

The story is narrated in both present and past, reflecting Diem’s life in foster care. It’s an emotional story that will leave you feeling sorry for Scarlett, the baby, and Diem.

Dear Everly
The novel is a story of Jake, who is currently a tortured soul, and the only light he sees in his life is Sandie, his daughter after the traumatic loss of her wife and the mother of her daughter. They loved each other so much and couldn’t imagine that she was gone, never to come back.

Jake has been taking care of Sandie for two and half years on his own and has been doing it selflessly with the aid of daycare, a babysitter, and his friend Mitch. Since Everly’s death, he hasn’t dated or admired another woman and feels so broken and angry most of the time.

Later Jake gets a next-door neighbor named Emily. She is kind, intelligent, and looking forward to starting her life afresh. Emily has been taking care of her grandmother and doing it out of love until she passed. She was her only family left and had put her life on hold to be the grandmother’s sole caregiver. The only home she had known as her home had been sold, so Emily had to look for a house to start another life.

She plans to continue writing in her new house, near the home of a man and her daughter. Jake and her daughter draw Emily into their lives as she wants some company after feeling so lonely living on her own.

Even after experiencing hard times in the past, she’s still optimistic towards love, and whenever she feels it, she doesn’t let it go. Jake is falling in love with Emily, and now he’s afraid that he will forget about his late wife Everly because loving her will mean letting her go. However, he feels that loving Emily will mean everything to him and Sandie.

Dear Everly is a beautiful story about heartbreak after tragedy and learning to find love once more. The characters’ imperfections made the story so real. It’s a contemporary romance story full of laughs, heartache, redemption, hope, and characters who will be demanding the reader’s undivided attention. It serves as a reminder that no one knows about tomorrow and every day is a gift, and no matter how we try, it reaches a point that we’ve to accept the nature of human life.

Jake’s a wonderful character working as a mechanic and a co-owner of the garage he works at. Sandie, her daughter, is an extremely lovable, intelligent, and innocent character who steals the scenes sometimes. It’s inspiring how they have a good father-to-daughter bond as they struggle to live. Their story takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride.
