Tempting an early is not an easy task for the faint-heated. Bethany is the eldest of three sisters. The four sisters were sent to live with a relative in a far land. The Duke of Clairmont was assigned the duties of taking care of the three sisters. Now Bethany is 18 years she is coming out of age while her beloved guardian is at wit’s end. He had quite a dull marriage, and he is worried that his ward will soon attract a wide variety of suitors due to Bethany’s exquisite beauty, for her entitlement or simply suitors with the intention of being an heir. However, he wants more for his ward; he wants Bethany to have some who is more of a gentleman than he was during his wild days. In efforts to ensure that the right man is found, Duke seeks help from his dearest friend, Lord Graham, (a man with a similar past as his) to assist in keeping a watchful eye and keep the sharks at bay.
However, what happens when Lord Graham is the only man that Bethany has ever dreamed about for months and she wishes that he finally make his move. Will Graham make a move and approach her?
Tempt an Earl the second book in Greenford Waters Legacy is a brilliant installment. Even though it is part of the series, the novel can be read as standalone. The characterization done by Vayden is excellent, for instance, the main character, Bethany, she is a young woman who gets what she wants. The banter that exists between the characters is quite exciting and will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.
Living London
What if one morning you woke up and found yourself sent back in time two centuries in the past? What if you dressed the gowns and waltzed around Almacks? What if you finally figured out how dangerous a rake could be? However, this is the reality for one, Jocelyn Westin and not even reading all the historical fiction in the whole world could have adequately prepared her for what it would be Living London.
Living London is a beautiful time travel/historical romance debut novel in Westin Legacy by Kristin Vayden set in Regency period London. Jocelyn, with a subtle nudge from her granny, finds herself sent back in time in an era that she finds interesting.
It does not take her long to get bearings thanks to her granny who prepared her for this world and also thanks to all the books of historical romance genre she has ever read. She is rescued by a charming young man who later pays her frequent visits. Jocelyn is happy to be living in her ultimate fantasy, one similar to one of her books she read until the reality sets in and it is no longer fun and games.
Vayden gives brilliant descriptions of the Regency times, the way men spoke, their masculinity and manner. There are also vivid descriptions of food, clothing, and the hats all which stuck with historical accuracy. The romance in the book is perfect. Ashby is a man who has always loved Jocelyn but never acted upon it. Jocelyn is a vibrant young woman and getting strings attached with her would make other people feel that he was interested in her money. However, with Jocelyn “memory loss” he gets the chance to start everything over with her. Yet, at first, things do not go as Jocelyn expected to make her question whether she should leave London and head back home. Throughout her journey, tears will be shed, issues will have to be resolved, but London may be the place where she finds her happily ever after.
Living London is a light story in nature, no super heavy drama or high anxiety. The author does a brilliant job of paying a visit to this era with such authenticity. Jocelyn quickly adapts to her new surroundings. She does not get angry or become a crybaby due to the turn of things. She just adjusts to and goes about life as if she has lived in this beautiful life in the Regency times.
Redeeming the Deception of Grace
Lady Grace Hashiver has always been good friends with Ewan Emmett since childhood. She has strong feelings for this man, but she fears that their childhood would stand in between if she confesses her feelings to him. The two friends tormented each other for many years, and Grace is worried that her man will not see her as anything special but rather an annoying girl.
She then decides to distract herself with the attention of another man. Her move somehow sparks Ewan’s feelings of jealousy. He soon realizes that the once annoying little girl has grown into an attractive woman. However, the big question is, is it too late for him to win the affections of the woman of his dreams? Will Grace be able to trust that his change of heart is genuine?
Grace is a charming protagonist, with a perfect mix of vulnerability and sass. Her history with Ewan gives the readers an ideal glimpse to see her willingness to play alongside her uncertainty to appeal the opposite sex. On the other hand, Ewan is a man who is at first overbearing but later changes to being inviting, adorable and also vulnerable. The relationship that exists between the two is fantastic, and the sense of familiarity between them during their childhood provides an excellent avenue for a definite chemistry between them.
