Kerry Fisher
Kerry Fisher has not always been a writer. Once she left her hometown of Peterborough to attend university in Bath, she got the travel bug and still hasn’t recovered.

She was a PA in art school in Florence, an English teacher in Corsica and Spain, a holiday rep and grape picker while in Tuscany, a guidebook researcher and author, travel journalist. Horizons, exciting, promising, unknown, and broad were what inspired her at the time. Nothing terrified or thrilled her quite so much as landing in a foreign country with a brand new territory to discover.

She would later succumb to ‘getting a proper job’ and went back to England so that she could study Periodical Journalism at City University.

Then she had kids, and with them went the days of elephant riding in Thailand, testing out the new theme park rides in America, and abseiling down the tallest tower in Rotterdam. So she had to discover new ways of exploring far-flung lands. Kerry, after working as a book reviewer for Candis magazine, realized that fiction was the way to keep this sense of excitement and anticipation alive.

She writes honest and funny books about family life and ordinary women. When she isn’t busy doing that, she can be found running quickly across the Surrey hills attempting to stop her lab/schnauzer from eating other people’s picnics or taking off with their kites. Or helping her son remember when he may have seen his rugby shorts last. Or explaining to her daughter that she can help her with Latin, English, and Spanish, however technology, art, or sewing, she is on her own with.

When her kids were young, the challenge was trying to find the time to write. Once they got to senior school, the challenge is to write down the funny, and sometimes hideous, things that they will say before she forgets in case she needs to use it in a novel.

Other than writing and reading, she loves to entertain, wine and friends, and cooking.

Kerry’s debut novel, called “The School Gate Survival Guide”, was released in the year 2014. Her work is from the romance and mystery genres.

“After the Lie” is a stand alone novel that was released in the year 2016. Life, love, and living a lie. One small lie can make a major difference.

Lydia is married to the ‘right’ kind of man (reliable, kind, and steady) Mark, she has got the ‘right’ kind of friends, and her kids attend the ‘right’ sort of school. Her wedding business flourishes and though she’s at loggerheads with her mom, she could not ask for anything more from her life.

However the truth is that she has been lucky. Lydia has been living a lie and Mark’s got no clue who he is truly married to. However nothing lasts forever and the past has got a funny way of catching up with the present. When the person that knows all of her dark secrets shows up at the school gates, his mere presence threatens to blow her life away.

What is her horrible truth? Once the secret gets out, it cannot be put back.

This is an enjoyable story and readers found themselves being impressed by the way Kerry weaves the story together around this big Secret with Lydia’s many personal interactions and the various consequences that her actions (or non actions) reeked on all these people.

“The Silent Wife” is a stand alone novel that was released in the year 2017. Would you risk it all for the man that you loved? Even if you knew that he had done something horrible?

Lara’s life seems perfect on the outside. Massimo, her gorgeous and doting husband, their sweet young son Sandro, and a perfect home. One thing she cannot tell anybody else or everything that Massimo has worked so hard for is going to be destroyed. Their son, his job, and their reputation. It keeps her a prisoner in her marriage.

Maggie is married to Nico, Massimo’s brother, and lives with him and her troubled step-daughter. She knows all Nico’s darkest secrets. Or so she thinks. Then she finds a letter one day in the attic that reveals a stunning secret about Caitlin, Nico’s first wife.

Is Maggie going to set the record straight or is she going to keep silent to protect her loved ones? For a family held together by lies, the truth is going to come at a devastating cost.

This is a heart wrenching, emotionally gripping read about the damage caused on a family by lies and secrets across generations. Kerry delivers a poignant, thought provoking, and funny read which is always a riveting read.

“Other People’s Marriages” is a stand alone novel that was released in the year 2021. While standing at her own birthday party, and listening to her husband give a speech about her, Steph could no longer silence the thought that began as a low-level hum about five years back and it built until she was no longer able to ignore it. Did she actually want to leave him?

Steph has spent decades building her family with husband Mal, and putting her family first. She is the glue which holds it all together and she has convinced herself that she has been happy. Most of the time, at least. However while standing at her birthday looking on as her husband talks about a wonderful marriage that she doesn’t fully recognize, the doubts she’s been pushing down for so long start to grow.

Once the party ends, and while she gathers her courage to leave Mal, she gets a letter from Evie, her old friend. She hasn’t talked with Evie since a sunny weekend on the beach some twenty years before, when the two said things to one another that could never be taken back. Now, Evie seeks a reunion and a way to fix their friendship. However this reunion threatens to reveal a secret which could destroy two families.

This novel is an entertaining, engaging, and wonderful read that is sure to leave readers emotional by the end. Kerry is a phenomenal storyteller and this work totally resonated with them.
