Kennedy Layne is a military romance writer who is quite popular for her happily ever after in her creations. This USA today bestselling author had a thing with storytelling since childhood. She used to build stories in her mind in order to fall asleep. As she grew older, her stories became more detailed and vivid and she started writing. She says that the source of inspiration for her military romantic novels and suspense thrillers are from her own life as a wife. Her husband is also her critique, reader and consultant. Kennedy has written twenty books, eighteen of which published under her old penna me with some traditional publisher. She wanted her writing to go into a different direction, so she took advice of other reputed authors and decided to self publish. Two other books of hers got self published under the pen name Kennedy Layne. Among all the books that she has written, she asserts that the first book of the CSE series, Captured Innocence is her favourite.

Kennedy has all the characters and plot playing up in her mind like a movie when she writes a story. She owes this to the television shows that she watches. She is a television lover and says that The Walking dead, Scandal etc. are her favourite shows. She is also an animal lover, as she has so many pets. She loves to be around them. In the winters, Kennedy keeps herself confined to the couch in front of the fire and does her writing work there with her laptop and coffee. Even during work, she is surrounded by her cats and dogs. In hot, sunny summer days, she stays in her sunroom where she can watch the birds and fishes in the aquarium. In an interview, when Kennedy was asked what inspired her to write, she replied that it was her son. When she was giving him an advice on how life works and she told him that you have to work hard to strive towards what you really want to achieve, he complained that she hadn’t really done what she wanted in life. That was when she promised him that she would get her work published in exchange of his hard work to achieve his aim.

Kennedy has written twenty books, four of which are series : CSA case Files, Red Starr, Surviving Ashes and Safeguard. The series CSA Case Files feeds the readers well with passion and romance. CSA or Crest Security Agency is a military romance where a retired Master Sergeant of Marine named Gavin Crest runs the agency. In his team of military members, there are both men and women working together on an SOC unit. While they all try to configure and investigate, each one of them have their own love or life stories. This series of 7 books is their perilous journey of romance, suspense and passion.

The first book of the CSA Case Files series, Captured Innocence is her favourite book. It’s a different world of passion and intrigue altogether. There are many elements in the book: mystery, passion, hot military men and women investigating cases. There is a good amount of romance and sensuality. The CSA is an agency of many military personnels, rallying missions and secrets. The story revolves around former marine, Connor Ortega and Lauren Bailey, a vendor who are the most important characters. Connor Ortega goes undercover for the new case where a submissive was viciously murdered. He wanted a BDSM lifestyle. Lauren Bailey, a local vendor of erotic tools had fear of bondage. Connor’s dominant side makes her agree to his proposal of a stipulation. The situation gets difficult when the killer stalks Lauren and aims his eyes on her, which makes Connor reconsider their relationship. Connor tries hard to keep Lauren safe from the killer, in spite of his own phobia. He could use his training to catch the murderer but his inner demons and phobia keep him away.

Another one of her very popular series is a hostage rescue series called The Red Starr series. Red Starr Hostage Rescue team (HRT) is the legacy of Red Starr who died on a rescue mission abroad. Her wife, Catori Starr was grieved and lost ever since she learnt about his death. She was unhappy and unlikely when he had gone for the mission. She decides to restart her husband’s legacy to overcome her pain and guilt, two years later. With a handful of cherry picked men, she forms a team. The paramilitary Hostage rescue team was originally founded by two retired Master sergeants of Marine, one being Brendan ‘Red’ O’Neill. Red Starr HRT takes cases, untouched by FBI and other agencies, and abroad missions against terrorist organizations. The team members encounter high risks on their missions and their dangerous journey is described in the series. This series too, like the CSA Case Files, massively attracted attention of fans and critics alike.

In her personal life, Kennedy Layne is a lively woman. She loves life and her role as a wife, mother, sister, daughter and most of all, as a writer. She considers herself a lucky woman because she can make herself happy by writing. She is a coffee lover and with a few cups of coffee and laptop, she starts with an initial idea, moulds and shapes it into an interesting story with character evolving themselves. She tries to do justice to every idea of hers. She also draws inspiration from her husband who is also her military consultant. It is because of him that she believes into the fact that the world can fulfill even your deepest desires if you work towards them. All her books have exotic military romance with suspense and intrigue and also, a happily ever after where the protagonist gets to fulfil his/her desire.

She now lives in Midwest with her husband who is a retired Marine Master sergeant, her teenage son and a collection of pets. This menagerie of pets includes some loyal, but mischievous dogs and cats who cooperate with her on her writing days, being curled up near her fireplace.
