Author Saul has written a series that are titled Sarah Roberts series and a Mafia Trilogy along with some standalone novels and short stories. The first book that he wrote in the Sarah Roberts series is titled ‘Dark Visons’ and was published by Imagine Press on 5th February of the year 2011. The main character of the book is Sarah Roberts, who is suffering from a problem that is unique in its own way. She is having random blackouts and it is happening continuously. Apart from this thing that is happening to her, what’s weirder is that she wakes up to find many notes written for her and all written by her own hand. The notes she is finding beside her after waking up are prophecies, things that are about to happen. They are Dark Visions. All the things are of the events that are about to happen in the near future and only she can protect them from occurring. Automatic Writer is the name given to Sarah.
The beginning of the novel is under a bridge where Sarah wakes up with having no clue why is she here in the first place. The only exception is the note she has that tells her to sit at 10:18 am under the Elizabeth St. Bridge and it also says to bring a hammer. When she arrives at that place at the mentioned time, a car accident happens and the vehicle falls in the river. It was because of Sarah’s hammer all the people survived. Later more blackouts occur and the intensity of the novel goes on increasing. The next task that she gets is to protect a kidnapping from happening. This couldn’t be too hard for Sarah as she has done this before, but this time instead of the intended victim the kidnappers nab Sarah as they recognize her. Soon people are killed and Sarah is placed at the scene by witnesses. The notebook of Sarah which is full of prophecies of crimes and accidents is found by the police and they want answers to all this. They want to know how an eighteen-year-old girl has such information. The story of the novel has many suspense and has a lot of twists and ends with a massive climax that leads to the part two of the series titled ‘The Warning.’ This book is overall a great one to read and there is nothing in this book that the readers won’t enjoy.
The second novel written by the Canadian author Saul in the Sarah Roberts series is titled ‘The Warning’ and was published on 3rd March of the year 2011. The books begin where the first part ended. For the last four years, Sarah is doing nothing but helping people to escape their death from the messages she is receiving. She has helped people to stay alive from various accidents and crimes. She has been receiving many messages from the Other Side from the past four years and all of a sudden a disturbing message comes. It is about the murderer of Sarah’s sister and about the place where he can be found. But the problem about the message was that it wasn’t clear and with the help of such unclear message the identity of the man who murdered her sister cannot be confirmed. This causes Sarah to start wondering about the messages’ veracity. When Sarah Roberts receives the next message that is named The Warning, she gets confused and hence decides that she will disregard this one. The tables turn the moment this does and instead of being a hunter she is now being hunted. In order to catch that one murdered how many people still have to die? How far is Sarah willing to go to catch him? The intense violence is explored in this book and as an Automatic Writer she must endure the reality and the absolute horror that has become the part of her daily life. The beginning of The Warning is with flame and as the book goes on the intensity goes on increasing with having an explosion in the climax. In the end Sarah talks to the dead so that she can save the living. A wonderful book for the readers trying to find twists and turns. It is promised that this book will keep the readers on the edge of their seats. Don’t forget to read other books from this too, as they are on the same level as this one.
