A popular novel series written by author Janet Tronstad is known as the Dry Creek series. It is comprised of 22 books released between 1999 and 2018. Every book of this series is set in Dry Creek, Montana. Some of the essential characters mentioned in the novels by Tronstad include Matthew Curtis, Glory Beckett, Francis Elkton, Flint Harris, Robert Buckwalter, Chrissy Hamilton, Reno Redfern, Millie Corwin, Brad Parker, Carl Wall, Barbara Strong, Doris Jane, Curt Nelson, Marla Gossett, Les Wilkerson, Duane Enger, Linda Morgan, and several others. The debut book of this contemporary romance series is entitled ‘An Angel for Dry Creek’. It was released in 1999 and features the central characters in the form of Glory Beckett and Matthew Curtis.
Initially, it is mentioned Matthew Curtis begins to fall for the beauty of Glory Beckett from the first time he sets his eyes on her. He sees her framed in the light of the high beams of her car and starts believing that she has been sent from heaven as a gift to heal his heart and his faith. Matthew Curtis also thinks that Glory Beckett could heal the whole town as well. Glory was already finding the pressures of the angelic faith quite stressful. But, she could not resist the smile of Matthew and his adorable twin sons. As Matthew and Glory accept each other’s love, the town becomes their enemy. The people of the community think that Glory’s presence could bring bad fortune to the town and put everyone in danger. Now, Glory and Matthew have to find a way to convince the town people that Glory was not a celestial being and her presence is not going to bring any danger to anyone.
Another excellent book penned in the contemporary romance, Christian fiction series is called ‘A Dry Creek Christmas’. It was published in 2004 by the Love Inspired publication. Tronstad has depicted the lead characters in the novel as Brad Parker and Millie Corwin. The novel opens by showing that Millie Corwin sneaks into a cafe in Dry Creek and leaves gifts for the people of the town. But, she gets mistaken as a thief and captured by the townspeople. They hand her over to the local authorities. Among the ones who captured Millie Corwin was a good-looking and charming Samaritan named Brad Parker. And like everyone else, the handsome Samaritan also thought she was robbing the cafe. When Brad Parker had arrived at the cafe, he was looking after his own business. Then, he noticed Millie Corwin sneaking into the place and immediately thought she had come to rob him and others.
Without any second thoughts, Brad labeled her a thief and captured her. Despite her repeated claims that she was not a robber, Brad didn’t listen to her and informed the local sheriff. However, he was also confused as to how can a beautiful and good-looking girl can be a thief. Shortly after, Brad realizes his mistake and learns that Millie Corwin is not just lovely from the outside, but also from the inside. She seems to have a good heart and it attracts Brad towards her even more. He feels that though Millie had not come to rob the town, she has definitely robbed his heart. This novel entertained numerous readers across the globe and became widely successful. Its success enabled Tronstad to work on more novels and add them to this series.
