Heidi McLaughin hails from the Pacific Northwest but currently lives in Vermont. Heidi, a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author, has written book series such as the Beaumont Series, The Archers and The Boys of Summer.
The first novel ever written by Heidi, Forever My Girl, has been made into a movie hitting theatres in January 2018. It stars Alex Roe and Jessica Roth.
Heidi McLaughlin, who prefers writing series instead of standalone books, has authored several series of books. McLaughlin’s series range from duologies to trilogies to a sextet. There are five editions of the first book published by Heidi McLaughlin. The first edition was initially published in late 2012, titled Forever My Girl; incidentally, this is the first book in The Beaumont Series which is a duology. The said book is shelved under the music, romance (especially contemporary romance), and new adult genres.
Liam Page and Josie Preston are the featured main characters in Heidi McLaughlin’s book. Meet protagonists Liam Page alongside Josie Preston; they were sweethearts during their high school years in Beaumont upon Texas, a decade previously. On the one hand, Liam Page is a tattooed rock musician. However, Liam sacrificed his relationships with kith and kin, and, most importantly, his truest lover at the altar of his music career. Page did not even explain his decision, he simply walked out on them. Even though living far away coupled with a glamorous lifestyle, the blowback effect of that ill-conceived decision is a lonesome life.
On the other hand, Josie Preston is Liam’s former girlfriend. After Page dumped her suddenly, the chagrined Preston resolved to move on with her life, albeit reluctantly and assailed with wishful thinking. Subsequently, Josie is the mother of Noah, a boy aged nine. Moreover, Josie has been in a relationship with another boyfriend, called Nick, for the past six years and both are looking forward to marriage. Nick secretly admired Josie while they were high school students.
The turning point in Heidi McLaughlin’s first book in The Beaumont Series, Forever My Girl, is Mason’s death. Incidentally, Mason was Josie Preston’s family and a mutual friend of both Preston and Page. As such, Page travels back to Beaumont to pay homage to the one-time late friend. Then conflicts of interest ensue.
First, Preston’s fiance Nick is uncomfortable with Page’s return to Beaumont. Secondly, Page regrets dumping Preston in his quest for career success and now is angling for a reconciliation. Third, Preston is in an analysis paralysis; Preston is torn between: one, Page, the man whom she really loved and who still claims to love her after a ten-year-long hiatus; and, two, Nick, the man who stood by her side when Page took her for granted. The ensuing love triangle is a mind-blowing account in this interesting book that was the basis for a similarly titled film.
Heidi McLaughlin Books into Movies
One of Heidi McLaughlin’s books has since been adapted into a film. The film rights of McLaughlin’s earliest book, Forever My Girl, were secured by LD Entertainment alongside Roadside Attractions. The movie, which is also similarly titled, is slated for release on January 2017. Bethany Ashton Wolf directed the film adaptation and wrote the screenplay too. The film production team included film producers Jennifer Monroe alongside Pete Shilamon. The starring actors are Alex Roe, who appears as Liam Page, and Jessica Rothe, who plays Josie Preston’s role.
Best Heidi McLaughlin Books
The following are the best books authored by Heidi McLaughlin. The first is the aforementioned Forever My Girl. The second is My Unexpected Forever; initially published in 2013, this is the second book in The Beaumont Series. Hereby, a drummer in Page’s rock band, called Harrison, relocates to Beaumont too; Harrison and the widowed Katelyn (mother of twin sisters) fall in love.
The third is called Finding My Forever. This book was originally published in 2013 and is the third book in The Beaumont Series. There is self-imposed pressure for Jimmy, another member of Liam’s band, to become a family man but his rock stardom cannot allow it; until he chances upon a kindred spirit during a colleague’s wedding.

The second one is titled Falling Stars series, penned by Sadie Grubor. Protagonists Christopher Mason and Mia Ryder, both musicians, know inwardly that they are longing for each other but their egos hamper their mutual feelings. The third is named Black Falcon series, authored by Michelle A. Valentine. It features couples who have hitherto separated but unavoidable circumstances make their paths cross again.
