Order of Forrest Carter Books

Forrest Carter is the pen name of American author and political speechwriter Asa Earl Carter (1925-1979). Carter used the pseudonym in order to masquerade as a Cherokee, but after the publication of The Rebel Outlaw: Josey Wales, The New York Times revealed that he was actually Asa Earl Carter – a Southern Klansman. Whether or not you agree with his politics, his novel The Rebel Outlaw: Josey Wales was extremely successful and was adapted into the film The Outlaw Josey Wales by Clint Eastwood.
