Elaine Fox is a paranormal romance and general romance author from Virginia who is best known for the “Guys & Dogs” series of novels.

The author was brought up in Maryland and she remembers that growing up, her family was full of talented writers and avid readers.

In her teenage years, Fox went to the University of Maryland where she would later graduate with a bachelor’s degree in English.

She would then spend several years working in corporate and academic environments before she decided that it was time to write a book.

Elaine penned “Hand and Heart of a Soldier” her debut novel in 1996 and it was this work that would pave the way for her to become a bestselling author.
She now has more than twenty works to her name including single-standing novels the “Guys & Dogs” series, collections, and several omnibuses.
Fox currently makes her home in Arlington Virginia from where she writes her blockbuster works of fiction.

Like many authors, Elaine Fox gets her inspiration for her writing from her life. She has always been a huge fan of playing and hence it was only natural that she would gravitate to playing with people, stories, and words in the making of characters.
Whenever she is not altering the course of sundry individuals and of true love and sometimes playing God, she can often be found doing something fun.

One of her favorite pastimes is tennis especially when she can find someone beatable but not anyone who is too easy. She also loved to ski at some time in the past but had to quit when she tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.
When she was down recovering from surgery, she had all the time to catch up on watching her favorite TV shows and most importantly reading. It was from that reading that she began thinking of becoming a fiction author.
Sometimes, she also loves to paddle and kayak down the Potomac since she lives very close to D.C.’s Roosevelt Island.
Most of the time though, she spends all of her time writing and usually takes inspiration from the many adventures that she has in her extracurricular activities in writing her fiction.

“Guys & Dogs” by Elaine Fox is a thrilling work that is the introduction to the “Guys & Dogs” series of novels.

The lead is Megan Rose, a young woman who is now in charge of the successful veterinary practice that had been established by her father. Her father had a reputation for being very hands-on and involved with his customers.
One morning she wakes up to find a golden retriever puppy that had gone missing in her bed. Looking at the tag the dog is the property of a reclusive billionaire entrepreneur known as Sutter Foley.

When she delivers the puppy he accuses her of spying on him as he knows the dog belongs to a gardener he recently fired. He is terrified when he realizes that she intends to leave the dog with him as he has never liked dogs.
Still, he is enthralled by the spunky sexy vet and he is certain about the intense attraction that they share. After some very steamy kisses and several run-ins at the local dog park, they become fodder for the local tabloids.
It turns out that he was about to get engaged to a high-society woman but now their relationship is on the rocks.
The author pens a fun, lighthearted contemporary romance with some very racy love scenes.

Elaine Fox’s novel Beware of Doug is an interesting addition to the Guys & Dogs series of novels.

The lead in the novel is a young woman named Lily Tyler who is very interested in Brady Cole a private jet pilot.

On his part, Brady is also falling for the gorgeous and smart Lily as he feels that there is some intense fire generated between them whenever they are together.

On the other hand is the nasty, noisy, and match-mauling pooch Doug who always greets strangers with nips, yaps, and unpleasant surprises. The dog has never been a fan of Brady and in fact, does not like anyone except for his owner Lily.
Oddly enough, she gets along with the man Lily’s father would like her to marry. He is a squeaky-clean man on the track to becoming an attorney in one of the city’s most prestigious law firms.
Brady has never liked dogs and Doug seems to be the devil dog incarnate. However, Lily cannot get serious in a relationship with someone who does not like her puppy.

Brady may have to employ more than hot passion, smooth charm, and great looks if he is to get himself into Lily’s life and out of the doghouse.

It is a funny and fun romance without too many surprises that still provides a very good reading experience.

“Hello, Doggy” by Elaine Fox introduces Keenan James a man who has a reputation for being the best when it comes to teaching women how to get the best men.

He usually has weekly roundtables where he provides advice to clients pining for love. Given his name, he has been recently commissioned to write a book even though he has yet to commit to a relationship himself.

A few weeks past he found himself saddled with Barbra Streisand an irrepressible golden doodle. To make things worse his publisher also assigns to him Tory Hoffstra, a shy psychologist as a co-writer that intends to keep him on a very short leash.
Tory believes Keenan is not what he says he says and secretly joins his weekly round table sessions using an alias. She is shocked that the man is more handsome than had been advertised in addition to being a smooth talker.

On his part, Keenan finds himself feeling the heart with Tory even as he warms up to the dog his mother left in his charge. He soon discovers that he could never have been prepared fully for falling in love.

It is a fast-paced sexy and fun contemporary romance that is upbeat and fresh and will often have you laughing out loud.
