D. Rose is an African American author and blogger best known for her contemporary romance novels. She has made a reputation for herself writing stories with black heroines and heroes that warm the heart.
She has said that writing and reading are things that she has always been interested in ever since she was a child. Her love affair with writing started when she graduated from college and was gifted a kindle reader.
Rose published “Another Chance to Love” her debut novel in 2018 and got such a great reception from authors and readers that she has never looked back since. She now has more than thirty titles to her name across several series and single-standing novels.
She has also been a contributing author to the “Luminous Cruise Chronicles” series. This was a lighthearted romance series that has also proved to be very popular with her fans.
She currently makes her home in PG County, Maryland. When she is not writing her novels, she can usually be found reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Rose began writing romance when she got immersed in indie romance during her college days. At that time, she desperately wanted to read something that was not self-help or non-fiction having just graduated from college.
She found reading romance to be the perfect escape from the banality of everyday life. Moreover, she loved reading happily ever after stories featuring black women.
Her favorite thing about romance has to be to watch how characters change over time, fall in love, and grow in love. When she reads contemporary romance, she finds joy in musical references and colloquialisms.
It is for this reason that she loves to write contemporary romances, even though she has been known to read in many different romance genres.
Nonetheless, she will sometimes dabble in romantic suspense and erotic romance subgenres among several others. D. Rose has also written several erotic romance novellas and hopes that she can one day pen novels in the suspense genre.
Like many authors, D. Rose has been influenced by other authors in her fiction writing career. Some of her favorite authors in the romance genre include Bria Felicien, Nicole Falls, Alexandra Warren, Christina C. Jones and Jacinta Howard.
All of these authors have been an inspiration to Rose in various ways. However, her biggest inspiration is seeing African American women close to her age writing novels and being successful.
They made her get rid of the notion that one has to be mature and older to achieve much success.
D. Rose loves to interact with her readers and fans on social media and through website newsletters. She often provides bonus chapters and previews of upcomign works in her newsletter and on her social media profiles.
“Brown Sugar,” by D. Rose is the compelling romance of Marquis Kent and Shiloh Hurson.
The latter is a twenty-seven-year-old poet and bank teller trying to piece together the remnant of her life, following the end of an unsatisfying and volatile relationship.
While on a sabbatical from relationships, she finds solace performing at Roseville town’s Ray’s Lounge. Soon enough, what was to be just an escape turns into a secret admiration for Marquis Kent, a crowd favorite and popular performer.
The man is a reformed preacher’s kid and 28-year-old carpenter who desperately needs a new start. He moved to Roseville and away from his hometown as the first step towards achieving this.
He has been spending his evenings performing acoustic covers of his favorite music which has earned him many fans. He believes Shiloh who would be his perfect woman is out of his league.
On her part, she thinks any relationship with Marquis would end in heartbreak, even though she finds him irresistible. Will they be able to explore what could be by dropping their apprehensions?
D. Rose’s novel “Ready for Love” is a beautiful story of the romance between Ryder and Summer.
Following the untimely decease of her father, Summer Jones tries to find a sense of normalcy without him. When she can no longer keep up the facade of keeping it all together, she was saved by Ryder Green.
While he was comforting her, Ryder came to the realization that she had also been helping him too. She had made him see that there was the possibility of finding love again.
He had come from a very painful divorce from the woman he believed was his soul mate and is not so sure he has much love left to give.
The two come together to form an impenetrable bond as he becomes the breath of fresh air she needs to go back to normal life while she is his last hope for love. But given their scars, will they be able to give their budding love a fair shot?
This makes for a beautiful and emotional story filled with love and healing. Approaching their relationship with caution and facing up to many challenges along the way, it makes for a thrilling and entertaining read.
“The Vow” by D. Rose is a brilliant romance novel about Michaela Robinson and Sergio Jones.
A scandal had broken out just when the latter was about to make his transition from actor to director. His business and the financing of the film he was to direct are put under threat.
Desperately trying to salvage his career and clean up his image he mulls an opportunity that may upend his life for good.
On the other hand, is Michaela Robinson, who is best described as a stubborn and independent person. The mere thought that she could need to find help from another person makes her work even harder, often leaving her burned out.
Michaela finds herself trying to find a roommate when her lease is abruptly terminated by her roommate. She has to find a new roommate even as she juggles part-time work, an internship, and graduate school.
Even worse, she is given an ultimatum that could upend her life as she risks losing everything.
Michaela and Sergio had promised to be there for each other as they rebuilt their lives but will they learn to cherish, honor, and love each other even as they face the threat of having no financial stability or job security?
