D. Lilac writes steamy curvy girl romance novels that are set in Texas, her home state. Reviewers and readers often comment about how they feel as though they are friends with the characters in D’s novels.

Ruby is a plus sized mother, like D. Ruby has suffered through heartache and became better because of it, like D’s mom. D believes that most romance readers will relate to her.

“The Perfect Fit” is the first novel in the “Gemstone Sisters” series and was released in 2021. Ruby doesn’t need some man in her life. She’s been there and done that. And she has the divorce papers to prove it, and she’s a single mother now. When she took her two young sons to a baseball game, she had zero intention of flirting with a fellow fan. Not the plan at all. When this accident brings her face-to-face with a jaw-dropping stranger in a backward baseball cap, she is barely able to think straight.

She never expected to meet Eli Johnson. The guy is much too young for her and good lord he and his abs are way out of his league. However she cannot resist his rough hands on her curvy body. Her boys love hanging out with Eli, however he surely is not ready to be a dad, since he’s not even 30 yet. Ruby certainly does not need a man, but does she want one?

Readers found themselves being really drawn in to these characters. Eli is incredibly sweet and knew exactly what he wanted and went after it. He makes Ruby work for it after she messes up. It makes sense that she would be scared at the prospect of loving a younger guy and was unsure if he was actually ready for the sort of commitment that she had with her kids. By the end, it’s surprising the lengths that she goes to in order to get her happily ever after with Eli.

“The Right Choice” is the second novel in the “Gemstone Sisters” series and was released in 2021. One moment in time can change the whole trajectory of your whole life. At the time, it might feel small, however in retrospect it sent you freefalling.

“Cowboy and His Second Chance” is the first novel in the “Hill Country Cowboys” series and was released in 2022. Some loves do deserve a second chance.

When Charley, a curvy single mother, has the chance to open her dream brewery, she moves herself and her daughter to Dripping Springs, Texas. Dripping Springs is picturesque and she soon befriends a fellow mom.

It all finally is going well for Charley until her past returns on a stool at her bar in the form of Lincoln Maxwell. Lincoln ran away from the best thing that ever happened to him.

When he comes face to face with this little girl that is the spitting image of him, he can just hope that he will be given a second chance. Once they reunite, their passion and connection remains alive; however will they be able to overcome, the pieces from their past which tore them apart ten years ago?

These characters are lovable and relatable. The story is a believable one and not just full of unnecessary drama. D makes you laugh at a couple things that happen and your heart to ache too. This is an easy and quick read which does not drag the reader through emotional torture. D delivers a sweet story with some steamy sex scenes. She keeps you on your toes wondering what exactly happened with Charley and Lincoln all those years ago.
