The Dragon Lord (2001)
Rose of Ayrdale life was shattered the moment that was informed of her father’s death by Lord Dragon, one of King Johns lethal Knight. The knight revealed that he had also been ordered to marry the traitor’s daughter or wife and claim the estate.
Rose was confident that neither her twin sister nor her grieving mother could stay married to Lord Dragon. It was also clear that their new lord had no intention of getting himself involved with a defiant woman like Rose. Lord Dragon was convinced that Rose was the name of the sweetly tempered twin he was to marry and so Rose took the position and was ready to get married to the ruthless Lord.
She managed to subdue her true nature long enough to convince the Dragon that she was indeed the girl he was supposed to wed. At the same time, Dragon had seen her mother and her twin sister on their way to a safe place in a nearby convent. Even though Rose feared the wrath of the dragon, if he discovered her pretense, she was contented with the fruits of her labor- and she was happy to have taken this small vengeance against her evil overlord. She would later be surprised to discover that the Dragon was already questioning himself whether he had been too hasty in sending “Rose” to the convent and taking the scared twin to wife- for Dragon is a man of fierce passions who would find the spitfire Rose a perfect match.
Dragon Lord is a brilliant standalone. There are is much that happens in this first book with all the characters and their stories as well. The tale is narrated from a different perspective to give the reader profound insights into the main story from different points. Connie Mason has woven a story of a romance that will the readers turning pages, there are female leads and also equally strong male counterparts who are adorable. The story is a combination of The Chief by Monica McCarty and A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught.
Sins of the Highlander
Mad Rob McLaren is on a mission of revenge. Two years ago, his wife was kidnapped by one, Lachlan Drummond, just a few days after they had wedded. The man raped her which resulted in the wife committing suicide. However, despite Rob’s efforts, Lachlan refuses to face him in combat. They say revenge is a dish that is best served when cold, and so Rob is ready to serve his cold dish, in a time when no one expected. So he kidnaps Lachlan bride from altering to get the battle he is due.
However, Rob never thought about Lachlan bride at all. He never thought the results that kidnapping would put, Elspeth through, and above all, he never expected the woman he would kidnap to would fall for him.
As Elspeth and Rob make their way back to Rob’s castle, sparks of love ignite, and soon they begin to fall for each other. However, first they must evade all the dangers from Drummond and his men, and once they finally make it to their destination, they must also escape all the obstacles and treachery as circumstances, and people around try to separate them.
Some of the crucial aspects of this romance tale include the characterization done simplistically. Each character is well crafted and woven to contribute to the overall story. The plot is original and flows well right from the first page to the last. The conflicts that Rob and his “victim’ face are mainly external since the two work reasonably as a couple. These two characters are perfectly balanced, adorable characters that are destined to belong together. There are lots of actions, sexy and romantic scenes that will grasp the attention of any hardcore romance reader.
A Taste of Sin
A Taste of Sin is the first title in Sin Trilogy by Connie Mason. Lady Christy was forced to marry John when she was just a small girl. Her wedding date was the last time when the Scottish beauty had seen her English bridegroom, who has now become a notorious masculine they call “Lord Sin.” Now Christy has grown to be a beautiful woman, and she is under pressure to end her previous marriage to get married to Cameron chieftain. However Christy does not agree to get married to a man that she does not love, and therefore she hatches a plan, one that will deter her suitor.
The first book in the series the trilogy is a brilliant read. The heroine and the hero got married when they were only small kids. Even though married, they have not seen each other for many years. The plan that Christy hatches is one that drives the most of this narrative. There is lots of drama and angst, the two characters are amazing, they are the perfect couple, and the sizzling chemistry between them is so strong such that they are willing to do whatever it takes to remain together.
