Clare Hastings is a new adult romance and general romance author from London.
She published “House in Little Chelsea” her debut novel in 2018 and has since then become quite the prolific author. She now has more than twenty titles to her name and has shown no sign of slowing down any time soon.
Aside from her writing endeavors, she is known as a former costume designer, stylist, and fashion journalist.
Hastings spent most of her working life as a costume designer and stylist and has worked on hundreds of shoots and commercials over more than three decades.
It all began when she got a job as an assistant to the editor of Harpers and Queen magazine the infamous Anna Wintour.
Contrary to the experience of many people, Clare Hastings enjoyed working with Wintour and she taught her a lot about the magazine and media business.
It was not surprising given that she comes from a long line of writers and journalists. However, she had never written apart from the odd article here and there and hence had a hard act to follow.
Her mother was a noted gardening writer and career journalist Anne Scott James while Sir Max Hastings her brother is an author of military history and former editor of a newspaper. Besides her father and all her grandparents were writers.
While writing was in her DNA, it would take thirty years before she changed direction as she went to work for Calypso Rose her daughter who was collapsing under too much work after winning a major business award.
Together they have now been running an online experience company and “Clippykit,” an accessory company for more than fourteen years.
Clare Hastings currently makes her home in London where she has been living for more than three decades.
It was while she was redecorating her home that she stumbled upon a flyer in an upper room. The ancient house which was built in the latter part of the 19th century got her very interested in its history.
It was from this that she would then write her debut novel “The House in Little Chelsea.” This was not surprising given that she had always loved houses of any size, from old houses to miniature doll houses.
When Clare is not writing her novels, she loves to tend to her London roof garden, which seems to be suitable for growing just about anything.
She also loves to redesign her house and just like the previous owner she has pushed her business card through several cracks in the floorboard and hopes that they will be found in the future by someone just like her.
“Out of Bounds” by Clare Hastings introduces the Atlanta Rising Football Club where there is more to turn up the heat than just the temperature.
Felicity Sutherland has never cared what people think of her which is her strong point.
She had managed to achieve success by working hard and developing a thick skin, which means her dream job is within reach despite working in a male-dominated sports industry.
Felicity is gunning to become president of the Club and is lucky that there is no distractingly handsome competitor or coworker standing in her way.
Gunnar Gracin is a coach who only has time for games on the pitch. However, life keeps throwing him curveballs particularly when it comes to women.
He had been left devastated when he lost his wife about ten years earlier. But then he found out that he was the father to an adult daughter from a murky encounter and this changed everything.
He is also infuriated that he has to work with the sharp-tongued and frosty Felicity. But the more time he spends with Felicity the more they realize how much tension they share.
Once they share a kiss the playbook is handily out the window making for an interesting contemporary age gap and enemies-to-lovers romance.
Clare Hastings’ novel “Pressure Point” is a fascinating love story of Liam Daley and Avery Houghton.
The former had to leave just about everything in Ireland including his dreams, his team, and his family when he moved to the United States.
He is now determined to show that he is more than a member of the reserves at the Atlanta Rising Football Club.
The only obstacle in his path is the quirky and charming physical therapist who seems to have a crush on Dash Lazaro, one of the hotshot rookies.
For Avery, she could not have been happier as she finally has her dream life and job and everything would be perfect if she was dating her dream guy.
However, it is unlikely that she will ever overcome her natural awkwardness and she is not getting any favors from her insecurities.
She believed that she could resolve her romantic conundrum by getting some tips from a football star who is friends with her love interest but could not have been more wrong.
Even as they start working together, Liam is still hoping that she will come around and see that he is the man for her.
“Offsides” by Clare Hastings is an interesting addition to the Atlanta Rising Football Club series.
Britt Callahan is known for always replying with “no comment” to anyone from the media. He knows how fast the media can tear families apart and ruin lives. But in recent times he has been noticing the stunning brunette at several press conferences.
In her quest for the truth she forces him into a date and he cannot back out of it. However, the more he comes to know her the more she thinks she might be different.
Theo Kappa is a tenacious and smart woman who will not be deterred by Britt’s continued insistence that he keeps her distance in combination with a very prickly demeanor.
She does not care that she may have to outwit her long-term crush as she is determined to prove that she is a woman second and a reporter first.
When she finally got the access she needed, she came to realize that things are sometimes more intricate than she imagined.
