Carlene O’Connor is an Irish author.
O’Connor is not the first one in her family to love telling stories. She comes from a line of Irish storytellers that goes back generations. It was her great-grandmother that was the first to emigrate from Ireland and go to the United States.
O’Connor came onto the literary scene with her Irish Village mystery series. Ever since her first book was published, the stories have not stopped flowing! She has wandered all over the world and across the so called pond, but she fell in love the most with a town that was walled located in County Limerick. She was inspired by that very town to create the concept of Kilbane in County Cork. She likes to split her time between Ireland and New York.
Carlene O’Connor is the creator and the author of the Irish Village fictional series. This series kicked off for the first time in 2016 with the release of the debut novel. The sequel would come out shortly after and there have since been more books released in this series. If you have been searching for a cozy mystery series that is going to keep you interested in the plot while not being too intense, this might be a great series for you!
Murder In An Irish Village is the first novel in the Irish Village series by Carlene O’Connor. Sink your reading teeth into this awesome debut story in the series. If you love the Emerald Isle and want to take a vacation without ever having to leave, then you should definitely check this book out for yourself!
Naomi’s Bistro is located in Kilbane, a small village that can be found in County Cork in Ireland. It’s a popular spot among the locals and is known for being a welcoming as well as warm spot that you can go and visit for some time with the neighbors and take in some tea with some brown bread and chat with the local people.
You can also catch a bit of gossip going on locally if you have your ears open for it. Siobhan O’Sullivan was just 22 years old and has her hands full these days running their family bistro. The bistro carries the same name that her mother did. She shares running the place with the 5 siblings that she has. They have to if they want to keep it open.
This is because they lost their parents tragically when they died in a car accident. The crash happened nearly one year ago, but the wounds are still fresh. The O’Sullivans have had a particularly tough year and now that year is on the verge of getting even more challenging.
They find one morning that they are opening up the bistro and there is a man there. He is at one of the tables and is seated with a suit on that is so fancy that it seems like it could be for his funeral. The only thing is that he isn’t living and breathing and trying to order some tea. He is dead and the cause appears to be the pair of barber scissors that are coming out of his chest.
Even more oddly, the scissors are hot pink. You certainly don’t see a pair of pink scissors as the prime murder weapon every day. Now the authorities in town are keeping an eye on the O’Sullivans. They are doing whatever they can to try and figure out who did this, but the people in town are feeling a little worried by the situation.
It could even grow to affect the business and they could be at risk of being totally avoided or shunned by the public. No one wants to think that they did it, but some people cannot help but wonder. When it comes to things like murder, they have a way of diminishing the appetite.
Can the local family figure out how to clear their name of this horrible crime? Will Siobhan be able to figure out what is going on and protect her siblings and herself, as well as their bistro? This redhead is doing all that she can to try and solve this case. Can she do it? Pick up this book to find out!
Murder At An Irish Wedding is the second novel in the Irish Village series. If you have been looking for an engaging mystery series to check out, the first and second books of this series are worth a look and can give you an idea of whether you want to pick up copies for yourself!
The O’Sullivans have had a pretty rough year. The County Cork clan is pretty close. Living in Ireland, they’re so happy to be doing what they can to cater the marriage of a couple that just so happen to be celebrities.
Will a killer in the middle of a wedding turn this Irish celebration into a wake instead? Kilbane is pretty small, so this village is always excited at the sign of any wedding. This happens all the more often when the woman getting married happens to be a model and famous!
It’s a wedding that is also showing the local businesses that celebrity weddings can be a great thing. Naomi’s Bistro has picked up a lot more customers and Siobhan and her siblings are definitely doing what they can to try and keep the food coming.
They’re also going to be busy catering this wedding. When Siobhan’s beau Macdara Flannery steps up to be the best man after the first guy takes himself out of the running, it seems like everything’s going somewhat smoothly.
Then the first best man is dead in the woods and murder is ruining the nuptials. When the wedding party’s second victim is found dead through poisoning, the new best man becomes the main suspect. Now there’s a killer on the loose.
With multiple robberies going on, Siobhan wants to do whatever she can to try and help prove Macdara is innocent. With a long suspect list, she’s going to have to go a long way to find the truth.
Can she crack this case? Or will Macdara take the fall? Read this book to find out!
