Order of Bonnets & Bugles Books
The Bonnets and Bugles series is a series of YA Christian historical fiction novels by American novelist Gilbert Morris. The series is about a story of two families on opposite ends of the Civil War in April 1861. Leah is a 13 year-old girl who helps the Union army along with her father, giving out Bibles to the soldiers. Jeff is a 14 year-old drummer boy with the Confederates who must struggle with tragedy.
Gilbert Morris began his Bonnets and Bugles series in 1995 with the novel Drummer Boy at Bull Run. The series lasted ten novels, concluding with the 1997 novel Bring the Boys Home.
