Aja is a romance and contemporary author born in Pittsburgh, the USA. She writes about erotic and passionate women’s fiction. Most of her stories give the readers a chance to experience inspiring, realistic, and intense passion for overcoming day-to-day challenges.

Her writing inspiration comes from soulful music and erotic art. She won numerous awards, including BRAB’s Beverly Jenkins Author of the Year Award in 2020. Aja is a mother and a wife, and when not writing, you’ll find her looking for a spot on the beach to watch the sunrise over the waves.

She’s Got Soul
She’s Got Soul is the debut in the Soulmates series. Zola Lewis can be many things to people, but not a good wife to her loving husband. She’s a marketing expert during the day and podcast host at night. She is also a great auntie to her sister’s daughter.

Zola starts to think that she can never be a perfect wife because she is too opinionated when it comes to men. One night during her usual podcast hosting, she came across a challenging caller who appeared to annoy her more than she anticipated.

Zola begins to wonder who was more opinionated, her or the caller? While growing up, Khalil Berry was a little bit of a nerd and bloomer. Since she had no time to spend with girls, he found comfort in Books. His all brain got him many opportunities in his mid-twenties; he had a fortune from his software apps.
The most recent app he was working on requires more research, and he opts to do it himself. Listening to a lady doing a podcast about women was a topic that he had gained interest in since his money always attracts them.

His task was a simple one of listening and taking notes. The host’s voice was too melodic, and as far as Khalil was involved, she didn’t know what she was talking about. When a wealthy app developer calls into Zola’s show to correct her, she isn’t ready to let him off without a fight.

He decides to call to correct her where they both apiece of their minds but can the two hand- over their guarded hearts? The more the two talk, the more sparks fly. Might they be in love with each other?

The banter between Khalil and Zola was the driving force of the whole story. Zola is a strong woman with an amazing job and has an attitude that she doesn’t need a man even though her podcast was popular, Zola doesn’t want to be lonely anymore as she wishes for love, and her journal is proof.

Khalil is a multimillionaire his grandmother brought up after his parents passed away. She helped mold him into the man he is. Even though he had a few hook-ups, his inner self wanted what his best friend had, a good marriage, a fantastic wife, and children.

So when a project led by one of his managers had gone through, he got involved to see how it could be salvaged. It was a dating app for black people, and I came across Zola’s podcast. Zola and Khalil feel they were meant to be together from their initial conversation to their first meet-up. They have great chemistry and are honest with each other.

Everything goes well until things start going south, and they find out they don’t know each other as they thought. Though it was a minor trust issue, it caused complications in their relationship when they later discovered both had issues from their past.

Zola and Khalil are a perfect romantic match with talented souls destined to be together, except they’re not sure whether it’ll happen. The path to their love is slowly awakening in the twists and turns that underpin the odds of their love and unique soul connection.

The story sucks in the reader from the beginning keeping them engaged to the last page. It’s a great story of how the current generation views rejection, dating, love, and commitment.

The characters are well developed, making the story more fascinating. It’s incredible how the author brought the two characters together with their different businesses where they both agreed and disagreed.

Eight Naughty Notes
Eight Naughty Notes is the eighth novel in the Baes of Christmas series. At a young age, Tori Clark knew she’d have to make sacrifices to reach her dream of being one of the great Pediatricians in Pittsburgh. She never had the luxury of traveling, partying, or falling in love.

However, she fell in love with Christian Powers, a gentleman going through his residency training alongside her. They were among the brightest and most intelligent in the program and had minimum chances but in some way succeeded to sneak, which brought them together.

It’s Christian who made Tori laugh and how cry out of happiness. When Tori gets a reminder of her passion, she decides to break up with Christian to concentrate on herself and her dreams. She wasn’t sure whether she could balance her career and having a man in her life.

A few years later, Christian becomes a top pediatrician, which takes him back to his residency where there is an opening of a children’s hospital and his second chance at love.

It’s so inspiring how dedicated Tori is to her job as a doctor. Although devastated when Tori broke things off, Christian never moved on, and his love for her never faded away. When he sees an opportunity to be in Tori’s company again, he decides to take her back and show her that he still loves her.
He tries to show Tori she can have both a successful career and a good man. Tori cared about her patients and nothing more, but can the love for her job keep her warm at night?

The author did a great job incorporating stories about their patients and the genuine emotions associated with giving care and making medical decisions. It’s a story about a second chance at love, and Aja did a superb job of crafting it into an engaging read.

Tori and Christian’s love for each other was strong, and he wouldn’t let her out of his arms for the second time. It’s amazing how Christian was sure of what he wanted, and Tori was why he came back home. Each of the notes brought them closer and their love kept on shining brighter.
