Witch is When it All Began

The Witch P.I book series is one of the most popular book series by Adele Abbott. The first installment in the Witch P.I book series is titled Witch is When it All Began. This installment is told from the perspective of one Jill Good, who is a struggling Private Investigator for reasons that the reader would not think. The main reason, why Jill Good is struggling is mainly because no one is willing to hire a female Private Investigator. However, things begin to change when Jill takes on a case of a supposed killer. This case changes, Jill Good’s life forever. While going head to head with the local police department, Jill Good also deals with another detective and a witch as well. Things are not only campy but cheesy as well. A killer is out on the lose. Three women are dead so far, Lamb, Fox, and Lyon, which in turn raises a question, whether there is a serial killer out on the loose.

While still working on the investigation, Jill’s biological mother passes away. However, before her passing, Jill’s mother informs Jill that she is a witch. Jill is exceedingly hurt because she could not understand why her mother would try to hurt her feelings. From this point onwards, weird things begin to happen, and Jill eventually discovers that her mother did not mean to hurt her feelings but was trying to tell her she has powers that she never knew she had. JilL Good also discovers that her mother was a good witch and she was always determined to do all she can to ensure that her daughter is safe at all. To protect her, Jill’s mother placed her on human adoption. As the story continues, Jill not only learns how to use her supernatural powers but she also gets to learn who her relatives are. With that said, Witch is When it All Began is not only filled with colorful characters, but it is also filled British humor, which in turn makes this book a highly entertaining and cozy mystery.

When Life Got Complicated

When Life Got Complicated is the second book in the Witch P.I book series. In this installment, we meet once again, with Jill Good, a Private Investigator by profession but with a difference; she happens to be a witch as well. After the recent death of her mother, Jill has finally learned how to use her witch powers. Two is hired to look into two related killings as well as a trophy theft in the world that she lives in. There is also another trophy theft in another world, Candlefield, a world where the supernatural resides. Jill is not only warm, but kind as well. She full understands who she is; thus she can easily cave into either her sister or her niece. Unlike her confidence as a private investigator, Jill Good is somewhat insecure when it comes to her role as a witch. The supporting characters in When Life Got Complicated have also been well developed by the author, Adele Abbott.

With that said, When Life Got Complicated is a cozy mystery narrative, that is not only light but also has been well written. The narrative works, as well as the style of narrative, which may abruptly shift the scene, works exceedingly well as a paranormal mystery. Furthermore, the author’s humor is on point, and it never feels at any one point that she is trying exceedingly hard to make the readers laugh.

When Everything Went Crazy

When Everything Went Crazy is the third book in the Witch P.I book series. In this book, we meet once again with Jill Good the protagonist. In this book, Jill is hired to determine who is the guilty party in the hit and run incidence of an exceedingly old lady. The lady was killed a few days before she changed her will. From the look of things, this was a paid job since someone was more than determined to ensure that this lady did not change her will. Furthermore, the protagonist was also expected to locate Norman Reeves, a man who had managed to run away with holiday funds. She is also expected to find Wonky, the cat. Ever since she became a private investigator, her business life has been exceedingly busy, which is great for a change. Jill Good also has a hen night to attend to and also her ghost mother’s wedding as well. She is expected to be at two places at once, but the great thing is that she is a witch. With that said, this is another highly entertaining book that has been well written by the author, Adele Abbott.

When Things Fell Apart

As the fourth book in the A Witch P.I book series, the central mystery is rather a classic whodunit. In this book, one Allan Dennis is killed while he was on a lift together with several other people. Jill is contracted to look into the killing. Apart from the lift mystery, also another supernatural being is busy smashing cakes before they reach their intended destinations. Just like the other three installments, there are several subplots to ensure that the reader is fully entertained. With that said, When Things Fell Apart is yet another classical read. Jill is an exceedingly likable character as well as Grandma.

When the Bubble Burst

When the Bubble Burst is the fifth installment in the A Witch P.I book series. In this installment, we meet once again with Jill Good, who is given the task of locating a kidnapping adult victim. In this book, the relationship between Jill Good and Detective Maxwell is still on a stand still. Furthermore, Maxwell does not want Jill Good to be involved in this case. As she was sleuthing, Jill Good is involved in various escapades with Pearl and Amber. As expected Grandma continues to annoy and pester the girls. However, despite being annoying most of the time, she still does not fail to show how proud she is that Jill is getting to learning new spells. With that said, When the Bubble Burst is a highly entertaining novel that will keep the readers entertained throughout.
