Abby Ayles is a young adult, historical fiction, and romance fiction novelist from Charleston South Carolina. The author was born in Manchester in the northern part of England and worked as a middle school history teacher since she is a holder of an Arts and History master’s degree.
The author made her debut in fiction when she penned “The Lady The Duke And The Gentleman” in 2017. Abby has always been interested in Victorian and Regency-era England and she usually shares her knowledge and love of these periods in her newsletter.
In addition to her very popular novels, she also wrote the Regency-era work “Her Cautious Duke” which she has offered readers for free on her website. It is a work that usually makes readers travel back in time and feel as if they were living in that era.
Abby Ayles now has more than 70 works to her name across several novellas, collections of short fiction, omnibuses, single-standing novels, and series.
While she was born in England she now makes her home in the US where she lives with her husband and three felines. When she is not working on her fiction works, she can usually be found watching and reading documentaries about Victorian and Regency England and going to the theatre.
Abby Ayle’s “Falling for the Governess” is a thrilling story of a beautiful woman named Isabella Watts. Following her father’s death, she is left almost destitute as she hardly has any other relatives. Without means or a title, she is at her wit’s end and does not know what to do.
However, her father had gifted her with an excellent education. She finds work as a governess taking care of the children of the new Duke of Wintercrest. She had to do that since her stature and life had been threatened by an old family friend that had grown increasingly jealous.
Things had been going well for Isabella as she acquainted herself with the adorable and delightful girl who has been put under her charge by the duke. But things are not as delightful as they seem, as Isabella soon discovers that living as a working-class girl is not so great even if she remains kind and patient.
Slowly, the Duke and Isabella develop a true bond of trust and soon enough fall in love. The duke is sweet, brave, and dashing since, unlike his peers, he had lived an ordinary life as a captain at sea before being thrust into his inheritance as a Duke.
However, he soon grows into the role of duke with Isabella helping him along. Still, finding forever love has never been easy as Isabella’s life is soon threatened and she finds Wintercrest her new home a very dangerous place.
“Saving Lady Abigail” by Abby Ayles introduces Viscount Dunthorpe, otherwise known as Lord Colton Frasier. At the opening of the story, he just informed his father that he would be joining the Regulars as a lieutenant as he was interested in fighting for the king as well as experiencing adventure and the world.
His father who is the Earl of Gilchrist hates this, as he believes his son should not be making such decisions on his own. However, he has already announced that he will be leaving at the end of that week and his mother and several of his sisters have not taken the news so well.
On the other hand, is the 19-year-old Lady Abigail who is happy to learn that her family would be hosting Captain Jones for dinner. He will be coming with three lieutenant friends of his and she hopes she will find one of them interesting.
While most men were looking for a proper, prim, and quiet lady, Abigail is not that type of girl. She is a free-spirited girl who loves adventure and had vowed that she would only marry for love. She is looking forward to traveling with her family to London for the social season where she will meet the Earl of Gilchrist Colton Frasier.
The man is self-conscious about his appearance as he had been badly scarred in the war and this has made him a very abrasive character. However, he saves Abigail from a bad situation with a pretender, but can she look past his scars and take him for what he truly is?
Abby Ayle’s novel “A Cinderella for the Duke” is another brilliant Regency-era fiction work that is simply unputdownable.
The lead is Lady Louisa Frasier who finds herself in a very tight situation. The Earl of Gilchrist who is her brother has left home and moved to the United States with his wife and the Duchess of Winterrest her best friend. She takes her children up north and lives a lonely life with hardly any friends for company.
It is when the dowager countess her mother suggests that maybe they should go to the lake district to visit her aunt that she gets a little bit of cheer. Her mother and her aunt have not looked eye to eye for a long time but Lady Louisa is determined to repair the broken bond.
When they arrive at the small but beautiful country town, Louisa discovers that Lady Hendrickson her aunt is not interested in reconnecting with family. What she wants is to take advantage of Lady Louisa and milk her until she becomes so frustrated and leaves.
On the other hand, is The Duke of Rowland, one Henry Vaughan reluctantly went back home to his inheritance since his uncle had insisted he goes back there to take a wife. He believes finding a wife should be easy since he does not have a preference for his future wife.
Moreover, he knows many of the country ladies would fall over themselves wanting to become a duchess. But his indifference immediately dissipates when he has a chance meeting with a mysterious masked woman.
He had been attending a private masquerade when he met her and he just cannot get her out of his mind. Just who is the enchantress and where had she disappeared to that he just cannot find her?
