Emily Brightwell is the pen name of American author Cheryl Arguile, the author of historical mystery novels. She began her career writing young adult romance novels before adopting her pen name and starting what became her best known work, the Mrs. Jeffries mystery series. She currently resides in Orange County, California.
Emily Brightwell became a published author in 1990 with Kindred Spirits, under the pen name Sarah Temple. Her debut as Emily Brightwell was in 1993 with The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries.
