Dennis Lehane is an American author of crime fiction and mystery novels. His series is the Kenzie/Gennaro series, but he is perhaps best known for having written the novels Mystic River and Shutter Island, which were made into motion pictures by Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese respectively. In addition to his work as a novelist, Lehane has written multiple episodes of The Wire and an episode of Castle.
