Order of David Gemmell Books

David Gemmell (1948-2006) was an English author of heroic and historical fantasy novels. He is the author of the Drenai Saga and Sipstrassi series. Gemmell began trying to write in the ’70s, but the end result was not quite what he desired. Then, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, he went back to writing, as his goal was to have at least one novel published before he died. His cancer was a misdiagnosis, but the novel ended up being published as Legend. Following his third novel, Waylander, Gemmell became a full-time novelist.
David Gemmell became a published novelist with the novel Legend, which he had started in 1976. The novel wasn’t published until 1976. He went to have a successful career, with only one novel not making bestseller status – White Knight, Black Swan, a crime thriller he wrote under the pen name of Ross Harding. His final novel was Fall of Kings, which was finished after his death by his wife, Stella. Below is a list of David Gemmell’s books in order of when they were originally published:

Notes: The novel Legend was originally published in the USA as Against the Horde; it was later re-published as Legend. Wolf in Shadow was also published under the title of The Jerusalem Man.
