Michael Chabon is an American author of literary fiction and children’s novels. Aside from his novels and children’s books, he has also written and published screenplays, comics and newspaper serials. Chabon attended Carnegie Mellon University, but transferred to the University of Pittsburgh and earned his B.A. under Chuck Kinder in 1984. He then got his M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of California, Irvine. Although Michael is known for his literary fiction, he is a strong defender of genre fiction. Michael lives in Berkeley, California with his wife, novelist Ayelet Waldman, and their four children.
