Cassie Hayes is a bestselling author of historical western, historical fiction, and romance novels. She has said that she grew up pretending to be Laura Ingalls when she lived in the Oregon farm country.
She published “The Beginning,” which is the debut novel of the “Gold Rush Brides” series of novels in 2014 and has never looked back since. Cassie now has more than eighteen novels spread across two series and contributions to several series by other authors.
Cassie is also the author of the single-standing novel “Hope on the Horizon,” which was first published in 2022. She has made a name for herself writing stories that explore adventure and love in the old West.
Hayes currently makes her home in Colorado from where she lives with her husband ten chickens and three cats. She usually writes her novels from the small room at the back of the house that she has converted into a home office.
“The Beginning” by Cassie Hayes introduces Miss Delila Price who has said that she does not need a man. She had been burned badly when she was left stranded after she answer a request for a mail-order bride.
She is struggling to survive in San Francisco during its Gold Rush and it is not easy especially since she is a woman.
However, she will not go back to the restrictive home she came from. Moreover, she cannot stand the long journey back to Boston but rather decides to start a business.
On the other hand, is Jack Dalton who has made his fortune in the Sierra Nevada and is a popular patron of the many saloons and dance halls in town. He does not understand why anyone would sign up for ads in the matchmaking newspaper run by Miss Priss.
He does not intend to ever settle down. But when some charlatan threatens Delilah’s dream he steps up out of pity. Soon enough he finds himself dragged into a partnership with the very woman he was so determined to avoid.
They start working together for long hours and they are soon forced to admit that they have an intense connection and chemistry.
Will they be able to find hope in the future and let go of the past? Maybe they will just give in to the fears that threaten to tear them apart.
Cassie Hayes’s novel “Emmy” introduces a spoiled brat named Emmy Gibson. She has been left destitute following the death of her father. But she was given a lifeline that would make it possible to maintain her lifestyle but she prefers death to capitulation.
She hopes to start a new life and applies to become a mail-order bride and is soon traipsing off to California. Soon enough, she finds herself staring down the barrel of a shotgun.
Mason Wilder is the sheriff of a very beautiful but just as dangerous county who has seen anything one could hope to see in the West.
But all of the murderous highwaymen and drunken prospectors never prepared him for the city girl that upends his life.
She storms through his door following the robbery of his stagecoach and demands that he investigate and bring justice to the perpetrators.
When Mason and his deputies go on the hunt for the criminals, he believes the pampered city brat remained behind. But it turns out that she had tagged along and he cannot decide if he wants to kiss her or strangle her.
Will they go on to move their relationship to a higher level or will a villain take out Mason and end their relationship before it has even begun?
“Back Home Again” by Cassie Hayes is a compelling narrative of Alexandria Luther. She had vowed that she would never go back to her hometown but she finds herself back there.
Family obligations had drawn her back and she is heading to Los Angeles as soon as she can even though her loved ones are pressuring her to stay.
She hates small-town life until she is introduced to the town’s most eligible bachelor who recently arrived in town in Grayson.
Life has always been slow in the Yosemite Flats and this is just how Grayson Conrad the owner of the resort wants it.
As a single father, he had moved to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada so that he could raise his only daughter far away from the glitz and hustle of Los Angeles.
As such, when Lex comes into town he has to fight o keep his sanity and a strong connection and chemistry. But he cannot resist her for long.
However, the huge fight is convincing her to stay when all she wants is to go back to Los Angeles.
