Grace Goodwin is an American author that writes science fiction and paranormal romance.
Goodwin is of the mindset that women should be treated like princesses. She believes that men have a duty to be strong and to use that strength to pamper and protect their women at all costs.
Those ideas are starkly represented in her stories. And one assumes that people agree with her because she has featured on numerous bestseller lists over the course of her career.
The author is best known for Interstellar Brides, a series of novels featuring one central story and various spin-offs set within the same existence but exploring new corners of the universe.
The Interstellar Brides books feature a war between good and evil that has been raging for centuries. Warriors of all races have spilled their blood on the battlefield for a conflict that most can barely understand.
They fight as hard as they do because they believe their cause is just. They also know that in the event that they are either injured or driven to retire from the front lines, they are assured love in the form of an interstellar bride.
Interstellar brides are women sourced from all corners of the galaxy whose job it is to love the men to whom they have been assigned with all their hearts.
There is a running theme that all Grace Goodwin novels share. While she has thoroughly experimented with science fiction and fantasy, the stories Goodwin writes, no matter how action-packed and adventurous, are primarily driven by the romance.
All the unique settings she creates, the planets and alien societies, they are geared towards bringing a particular man and woman together. The women do not always have a say in their choice of companion.
They are generally compelled by unexpected circumstances to play the role of mate to a man they’ve never met. Grace Goodwin’s heroines stand out because they are all so strong.
The author has no patience for wimpy female protagonists. She hates women that whine and complain about their problems. The women Grace Goodwin writes are designed to stand firm in the face of obstacles.
They take charge when the need arises, speak up if the situation calls for it, and fight when opposition emerges to threaten their lives. They will also tear their clothes off and drag their man to bed for a hot and steamy tryst without suffering under the weight of guilt or regret.
Goodwin’s women are very diverse. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Goodwin has admitted to making a concerted effort to inject this diversity into her work because she believes that it is a reflection of reality.
Women in the real world are different, even the beautiful ones and the author works hard to bring that same variety to her fiction.
Goodwin’s heroes are typically warriors. They tend to be wounded in some aspect, either physically, spiritually, mentally, or emotionally. That doesn’t stop them from trying to control the women they choose to mate with.
But once it becomes clear that they’ve met their match in the heroine, they begin to reveal their vulnerable sides. They show that hidden beneath their tough exterior is a gooey core that only desires to be loved.
Grace Goodwin gets most of her writing done at a desk in her home. The fact that the desk is located in her kitchen often comes as a surprise to most people. Goodwin’s writing space is normally littered with sticky notes upon which she jots all her ideas, every single item she might need to include in her writing but could forget.
She will be the first to tell you that she can’t really remember things unless she writes them down. Besides the sticky notes, Goodwin is never far from a pair of headphones. They help her block the rest of the world out as she writes.
It is worth noting that the author doesn’t actually exclusively write at her desk. She uses a laptop to chronicle her stories and she tends to carry it with her wherever she goes; that way she can sit down and write whenever the opportunity arises.
However, the real work of publishing, all the formatting, and marketing, and revising, and editing, that gets done at her desk in the kitchen.
The author is always quick to point out the fact that the name on her books, ‘Grace Goodwin’, is actually a pseudonym. Her real name is Michele Callahan. She works closely with her Best friend, Vanessa Vale, a graphic designer who makes the covers for her books.
Together, they are Grace Goodwin.
+Assigned Mate
Eva Daily encounters a situation that forces her to seek asylum in another world. For Eva, this means joining the Interstellar Bride program which will assess her and assign her a mate.
Not only does Eva pass her assessment but she is immediately sent off to the planet Trion where she becomes mate to Tark, a handsome high councilor that uses harsh means to ensure that she submits to him completely.
Eva thought life under Tark would prove unbearable. But then he performed an intimate examination of her body and succeeded in arousing her beyond anything she could have imagined.
Now Eva must reassess her opinion of Tark. Even as he bares his soul and shares with her his vulnerability, events on earth arise to threaten the passion blooming between them.
+Mated to the Warriors
Hannah Johnson joined the Interstellar Brides program because circumstances forced her to do so. To her shock, she was mated to two people, warriors from the Planet Prillion.
She met Zane Deston on a starship and the large warrior immediately made an impression of her. Then Zane revealed to her that she would also be mate to his second, Dare, a warrior that proved to be equally as handsome.
Now Hannah isn’t quite sure how she will juggle two husbands. They are both determined to dominate her, to bend her completely to their will. And unfortunately for Hannah, she has found that she doesn’t completely hate the idea.
In fact, Hannah is looking forward to the moment they will both make her theirs.
