Lee Karr is a published author, also going by the pseudonym of Leona Karr.

Leona Karr first saw her own words in print form when she was in the sixth grade. That was when she entered an essay contest and won. The city newspaper published her entry for everyone to see. She felt a thrill then, but now she experiences that same thrill and a little surprise that comes with publishing, even after over thirty books being put out into the reading world!

Lee has penned all types of stories, from gothic stories to paranormal romance stories to historical romance stories and mystery stories. One genre that she really likes to write in is romantic suspense. She loves to read stories in this genre too and has plenty of books that are all about heroes and heroines taking on an adventure and swooping in to save the day.

The author is a native to the state of Colorado and has set a lot of her books in the same Rocky Mountains that she is able to see from her home. She attended the University of Colorado and graduated with her BA, and then earned her MA from the University of Northern Colorado.

Lee was a reading specialist teacher. Her first book came out in 1980 and she pivoted to writing full-time. Her books have done very well and have even been translated so that they can be published to readers in different countries. To this day she has had over a million books reprinted.

Lee had the misfortune of being a widow. After five years, she got married once more to her husband, whom she calls her soul mate. She is in the midst of her personal romantic story after writing so many of them for her characters! She has children and grandchildren and enjoys spending time with them. The author also lives life from a wheelchair, being hit by polio a year before the vaccine was approved to be released for the public to use.

As an author, Lee Karr has seen a lot of success. This is perhaps due to her habit of writing daily for five hours, always pursuing new stories. She loves when her readers tell her that they stayed up late to read their books!

Lee has had a lot of success in her field. She has made the Waldenbooks best seller list, and has been nominated for awards by the Romantic Times for the best romantic saga and the best gothic author. She has been the winner of the Colorado Romance Writer of the Year Award and the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer of the Year. Lee has also been a presenter at different writing conferences. She has also instructed others in creative writing college courses.
