CeeCee James
CeeCee James is a USA Today bestselling author and a wife and mom, that first began this writing world as a child and continued on with bedtime stories for her own children. She loves creating new worlds and puzzling through cozy murder mysteries. CeeCee’s favorite sleuths are a bit flawed, kind, and curious. However they all learn that being flawed is not being broken, and that’s a life lesson that she tries to work on for herself.
Her favorite cozy mysteries always have a dash of humor, possibly a tinge of romance, animals, and tons of friendship. There’re always a few of her favorite pups, and a kitten or two. She loves the small town feel with just a hint of juicy gossip and friendly relationships that comes along with it. She also enjoys good food and her characters love it too. This is why some of her mysteries include free recipes.
One of her favorite places to write is curled up in this fat oversized chair that she found on sale somewhere, with a cup of coffee. Typically there are dogs sleeping at her feet, or in the chair with her where somehow they double in size in order to hog up all the space.
Writing has been a life long passion of CeeCee’s. Her first published work is a piece of nonfiction called “Ghost No More”. Most of all she loves writing about the celebration of life.
“Booked for Murder” is the first novel in the “Oceanside Hotel Mystery” series and was released in 2017. When Maisie Swenson takes over managing at Florida’s elite Oceanside hotel, she is thrilled to move on site with her Momma and Bingo, their basset hound. She expected by the job description to be catering to the crazy whims of some of the richest people in America.
Deliver a baby—check. Make it snow in Florida—check. Helicopter wedding—check.
However what wasn’t ever on her job resume was dealing with the murder of Norman Olsen, a business mogul. He’s a huge figure in the gaming video business. However now it seems as though he had some rather dangerous enemies, including his own son and wife.
When the killer targets the hotel again, Maisie believed the worst of her worries was about getting fired. However, while she uncovers clues, the killer focuses on Maisie. It’s personal, all of a sudden.
Fans of the novel found this to be a good and light interesting story, with some intriguing characters, and the work and personal relationships (especially the one Maisie has with her mom) make this fun mystery well worth reading.
“Cherry Pie or Die” is the first novel in the “Baker Street Mystery” series and was released in 2017. Georgie Tanner experiences a traumatic life event and it sends her back to her hometown to start over at the age of thirty-one, now a certified hot mess. Gainesville, Pennsylvania is as American as apple pie is, steeped in rich Revolutionary history, ghost stories, Amish settlements, and colonial manors, and Georgie’s new job as a historical tour guide gives her a no pressure and safe place to start over. Nothing could possibly go wrong in such a picturesque and sleepy small town, right?
Georgie’s first guided tour of the Three Maidens’ Manor battle site and museum proves her to be deathly wrong. The power goes out in the middle of her commentary, she’s got plenty to handle keeping everybody calm. Until the power comes back and she finds she now has not just six panicked guests, but also a mysterious dead guy to deal with.
Which of them committed the murder? And, much more importantly, why would she be the next target?
This is a well written mystery that keeps your attention as you keep turning the pages in order to see what will happen next in the story.
“Mind Your Manners” is the first novel in the “Flamingo Realty Mystery” series and was released in 2018. Meet Stella O’Neil, she is retired FBI agent Oscar O’Neil’s granddaughter. She has a ton on her plate: starting out as a real estate agent, trying to figure out her stubborn and crazy family, and the hidden secrets which caused her grandpa’s estrangement from her father. Toss in a dead body discovered in what was once the town’s “royalty” family manor, and she is neck deep in a mystery.
She might be sweet, however Stella’s pretty stubborn in her own right. While her curiosity takes her from one town resident on to the next, a dramatic story of family secrets begins appearing, however could she be getting too close to the truth? One scary car chase in the dark has got her nerves on edge, however she’s not about to give up until she can find out who the skeleton was. She is so close. However somebody, quite possibly more than just one person, is going to do anything to stop her.
“Tall Tails Secret Book Club” is the first novel in the “Secret Library” series and was released in 2021. A cat too smart for its own good, a suspicious death, and a mysterious mansion.
When Laura Lee took the summer housekeeping job at the old Thornberry Estate, she knew that it was a creepy place, however she had no clue just how creepy. Mrs. Fitzwater warned her to keep her nose in her own business and her mind on her work, however one thing after another leads her astray, between the mansion giving up these puzzles while she goes about her work, fun secrets to share with the clever ladies that are in her book club that are always up for a mystery, and a cat who seems to more than she does.
The chauffeur’s death right outside the gates of the estate changes everything and creepy suddenly turns to deadly while Laura Lee finds she’s in the middle of a murder investigation. When the cops appear unable to solve this crime, can she and her intrepid club find this killer before the killer can find Laura Lee?
