Cara Maxwell
Cara Maxwell is a lifetime reader of romance, and finally put fingers to keyboard in 2019 and published her first novel. She has yet to slow down after that.

Cara brings a fresh point of view and punch to the genre that readers already love and know, she is dedicated to writing irresistible rogues and spirited heroines that you will root for every single time.

The best part of being an author to Cara is getting to write the ending precisely how she wants it. She has been a reader of historical romance ever since she was a teen, and she often found herself getting annoyed with how the story would play out. But as a writer, she is the one in charge. Which she loves.

She is an avid traveler. While she explores new places, she imagines some of her characters walking hand-in-hand down one of the cobblestone paths or sharing a passionate kiss in some secluded alcove.

“The Art of Loving You” is the first stand alone novel and was released in 2021. When something is meant to be, you just know right?

Harmony Harlowe (supremely self-confident) considers herself to be an artist first and the daughter of a duke second. Instead of pursuing romance and love, she’s spent her formative years focused on her painting career. When she begins developing feelings for the mysterious Lord H, her confidant and patron, it appears that everything is working out just fine, like it was her own destiny. Then Oliver Marshall shows up.

Oliver has got way too much to do and far too little time to do it. He’s got a week to accomplish all his business in London and return to Northumberland where all his responsibilities are. He doesn’t need the distraction Lady Harmony presents. Yet every moment they share reveals new depths of connection between them. A shared love for the world of fine arts being one.

They’ve each got decisions to make. Does she give her heart to the loyal supporter that has been by her side for years, or this handsome viscount that she’s just known for a week?

How can Oliver possibly reconcile the building feelings he has for this woman with his responsibilities back home?

“A Love Match for the Marquess” is the first novel in the “Hesitant Husbands” series and was released in 2021. Find the perfect wife? Yes. Marry the lady? Yes. Move on with life? This Marquess’ marriage isn’t quite turning out the way that he expected it to. His fiery bride has just won his hand, but can she now win his heart?

Madison Hutton (beautiful, bold, and vivacious) is an immediate hit when she shows up in London for her debut season. As she’s caught the eye of so many an eligible bachelor, her head’s not all that easily turned. She is looking for one thing: a true love marriage. When she meets this dashing young marquess named Henry, she believes she’s found her perfect match.

Henry, after years of his wild bachelorhood, is ready to find himself a suitable wife and finally settle down. The enchanting Madison truly checks all of the boxes: sweet, smart, and outgoing. She will make for the perfect marchioness. The raging attraction between the both of them is just a bonus.

However while the wedding bells fade, Henry and Madison each realize that marriage isn’t as easy as they believed it’d be. And the person that they married? A rake, a partner, a stranger…true love?

“One Race to Ruin” is the first novel in the “Racing Rogues” series and was released in 2021. She is bad, mad, and dangerous to know. And even more dangerous to desire.

Love is the furthest thing from Daniella Rames’ mind. She has been unceremoniously shipped off to her uncle and aunt’s for the season, she is mad at just about everybody, particularly that handsome earl who insists on ordering her around. When she sneaks away and assumes a secret identity, he is the very last person that she wants to see. And exactly the first one that she runs into.

He is an earl that is on the straight and narrow. Until he meets her. The new Earl of Fordham has got a bunch of problems at the moment: a financial headache, a crumbling estate, and this red-haired hellion that inflames and enrages him at each turn. Eric Weathers doesn’t have any time for the complications that Dani provides him. However the chit appears to be determined to work her way into each and every aspect of his life, and eventually, the man’s bed. The scandal that they’ll cause is not just going to upend his efforts to save his earldom, but might also ruin his single shot at love.

Is the earl going to get the girl? Or is he going to lose his reputation, his livelihood, and the love of his life?

“In Bed With a Blackguard” is the first novel in the “Lady Knights” series and was released in 2023. The gentlemen of the ton might have come back from the war, however the Lady Knights of England are just starting.

Miss Jacquetta Lawson has just vanished right in the middle of the London social season. Has scandal just befallen headstrong miss or is there something much more nefarious afoot? When she allowed for herself to get kidnapped by the notorious Grayson Thane, her plan was a straightforward one. She’d remain his captive just long enough to deduce who it was that he was working for and then she’d make her escape. Right up until she wakes up tied to the mast of some ship.

Grayson Thane really ought to know better. However weeks of sharing a cabin with this beautiful and brazen woman would tax any man. Headed for the West Indies, Lord Grayson Thane (second son of a duke) is incredibly close to extricating himself out of the servitude that he fell into back during his youth. All that remains at this point is to drop Jacquetta in Barbados and he’ll be free to finally go back to his family. However this insufferable tart is bound and determined to frustrate him at each turn.

Confined at sea with Grayson, she begins questioning all of her closely held notions of wrong and right. However she’ll not give up her mission to Queen and country, even if this means that she has to seduce her bitter enemy.
